G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: G-Code Macro help needed!
« on: June 26, 2012, 07:30:35 PM »
The Macro Itself Cannot control the gcode side of MAch3 by HOLDING until the macro is satisfied (;-) The Gcode will run right around the macro code "AT TIMES" and proceed. and it can be vise versa.

Never trust life or limb to a MACH3 CB macro . Sooner or later it will get you.

NOW for the good PART Ajax/Mach3  does a LOT of things Differently than a standard Mach3 setup your best bet would be to contact AJAX for help they are the only ones that know the quirks behind their plugin control.

VB and the development of wizards / Re: CNC Grinder Wizard /Screenset
« on: June 26, 2012, 03:36:32 PM »
One of the tricks is to do alternating passes not starting at the same side each time . This helps keep the Wheel Flat as with each pass it uses the opposite leading edge of the Wheel for equal wear.

AND that is a bear to track inside a Gcode file without conditional Gcode(;-).

I now have a working model. The bear was to get it to SEE where it is at and react at the start of each pass as to continue or adjust for the finish pass.

When I get that portion done THEN I will work on Trueing and setting WHeel Diameter(Zcorrection) It is fairly easy IF you test the wheel on the trueing device as when done the Zheight correction IS the truing device Height as it is always a fixed point in Z.

Got it very close BUT more testing needed.

VB and the development of wizards / CNC Grinder Wizard /Screenset
« on: June 26, 2012, 01:08:29 AM »
OK  Looking for input from anyone doing cnc surface grinding. There was a Fellow that contacted me a WHILE back but cleaning out the email I lost his info.

Surface grinding LOOKS simple enough BUT there is a great deal more to it than meets the eye. TO GET IT RIGHT.

I am at the starting point with the screen inputs.

What Screenset are you running? There are some settings for plasma cutting that may apply.

Peter No point in that. When you call a Ref axis  it does just that. No point in dereferencing it first.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

The Added Beauty is ALL motion CUT and BarFeed is done in Direct G CODE NO CB macro to control motion. So you have FULL machine safetys to rely on. AND you have IMEDIATE STOP if needed. SO far so Good.

What I meant by the R&P was a FULL length R&P the maximum length of the Material stock Most stock comes in 20-24' lengths.  You will use the full stroke of the R&P each load. With R&P you have an end clamp to grab the material. Then it is a continuous PUSH until you run OUT of stock.

I have a running screenset now AND I have cut you over 962 pieces 2" long(;-)

It has MORE features such as a material table to select Material From(tool table) That YOU can edit on the fly if needed. When you select the Number it presets the CUT parameters such as Materail Desc /type , Width of stock, Cut Feedrate, ETC. Then creates a custom CUTFILE just for that application and loads the system ready to cut.

You can FRO the CUT Feedrate OR the BarFeed Feddrate ON THE FLY.

It has a Parts counter both Num of parts, Num of CUT parts and Num of Parts to go.

It also has a Stop "Reload Stock" Flashy LED that you cannot ignore,  it is a FULL page large and VERY blinky. (;-)

Make have to build a new saw now(;-)
