Ok you have my curiousity up. IF the cylinder is 90 deg to the pushrod how do you actuate it without a pivot??  What is the pin in the picture for??

I can think of a few ways but just curious as to what you picked.

More than likely the IJ settings on the Desktop are wrong and you are getting crop circles.

Almost sounds like a loose DIR wire where sometimnes it changes the state and sometimes NOT.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

I don't think you can fuse servos as such if you open the connection you may blow the servo anyway.

Most servo drives have auto load limiting built in to protect them.

Mach3 seems to have problems with limits sometimes I have a Boss BP as well. I ended up using the first limit (Zup) as a limit and the second limit switch as a safety that is NOT controlled from MACH3 . IF it overruns the first limit then it trips the drive offline with the hitting of the second switch.

IF it overuns the upper limit at speed it will severly JAM the quill into the housing AND can cuase damage to the quill assy.  Then you have to take the covers off the drive and manually unscrew the quill IF it is not stuck to tightly.

Been there done that a few times BEFORE going to the safety switch. Overrun limits YES, Stuck or damaged quill NO (;-).

In Mach3 you have a serial monitor you can setup.

I think what you want to use is event driven serial as it stays open and active the entire time MAch3 is active.  The others open and close the session each time it is called.  Also there is VERY little info on the serial side of Mach3.

First make SURE you have the MAch3 serial setup the same way you have hyperterm set up.

That was going to be the next question (;-) were you going to talk serial to the atc of rebuild the mechanism to use a stepper drive and i/os.

Did you setup the mach3 serial port to be the same as far as buad rate , bits, stop bits. It has to be exactly the same as the ATC uses or no talky.

You probably need to start with using Windows hyperterm to SEE if you can talk to the ATC.  Set up the hyperterm as to the Comport settings and then type in the comand data and see IF the atc responds to commands.

Sorry but what you generated is NOT gcode.

Yep the programmers reference is the holy grail to Mach3 and support macros.

I know several people have converted the Triac to Mach3 complet with tool changer you just have to find them and ask for help with the macro that drives the ATC. Most will willing help out.

I will look to see IF there is any info floating on the Web for ya.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Help I need to get setup!!

Sorry but this site is not a marketing site as per say it is a SELF Help site where users help each other. It was provided by the graceous people at ArtSoft FOR us users. BUT they rarely step in UNLESS asked to clerify something . There are people here that have put in literally thousands of hrs over 5-6 years helping out, testing, and experimenting with MACH3

Very few have ever been refused help in one way or another UNLESS that person creates the impression that he will  belittle everyone for not helping them. That is a 3year old's trick to get mommy to do what they want.  We have had a few pass through with that attitude.

Your responses RANG the bell so to speak, leaving you with no one to respond.

Back up change your attitude AND you may get some help other wise please feel free to travel on.

There are 2 manuals you need to download.

The mach3 macro programmers manual AND the VB programmers manual.

They are located here  http://www.machsupport.com/documentation.php

With as many triacs that have been converted their MAY be an example of how it was programmed on this site.
