Faster cpu are a bonus BUT only if you can still get all the work down the pipe. The same problems exist with full size PCs.

FInd the best compromise for the money you have to spend.

Most use a mini HD from a laptop, Solid state will work BUT be aware of the compromises in solid state HDs. MORE READING.

I would seriously think about using a complete built system over a pieced together best guess system of unknown compatibilty.

In a lot of cases it is caused by running too fine a pitch on the Z screw. In order to get SPEED you have to take the motor into the rpm range where it has little torque to do the function.

Most time it is as simple as replacing the feed screw with a courser pitch to move the motor rpm down into the high torque band.

Tweaks does this assume that the 2 points are inline with the axis when referenced back to the drawing ?  IF not you have to account for that offset as well.

First problem is Mach3 will only accept 4 encoders.

You could probably create an encoder reader board then interface it into Mach3 with a plugin and with a LOT of interface programming make it work. BUT you could only move one joint at a time jogging as MACH3 does not have joint kenimatics for world jogging. Mach3 was never designed with rotary joints in mind. It is just a simple CNC machine controller.

Why not just use LinuxCNC(EMC2) it does rotary arm joints for robots AND with kenimatics it can do world jogging in real time.
