Hood from what testing I did the problem lies with the brain. It only knows 2 states of an output. It either turns it ON or turns it OFF. AND that is a continous turn on or off. So if you turn the output on with a macro the brain turns it right back off.

YES there are QUIRKS in mach brains. In cases like this you are much better off using the macropump to drive the functions.

In the brains where you do a compare option it only knows to turn the ouptput ON or OFF so in your case it is constantly turning OFF the ouput even thought you turn in on somewhere else.

(;-) Your power cost must be extremely high. Here I can run a shopvac 24/7 for a month for less than $30US.

The best approach would be to use a simple brain that looks at a User Led. If the LED goes active then send to the timer as

0.000 start delay, 30.000 sec pulse , Delay to restart 120.000sec.

Then terminate the function to the output that turns on the shoppvac.


Userled2250 -------->Timer(0.000,30.000,120.000)------------> Output2


As long as the LED in on the timer turns on for 30 sec then waits 120 and repeates.


The main problem you face is the cutter will always be at the wrong place when the VAC turns on to collect the largest pile of dust/cuttings. MURPHY's law.

IF you are using that

ActivateSignal(OUTPUT7)

It should stay on until deactivated.  Does the output led stay on or shut off also. Is the ouput signal present at th PC and is lost in the BOB ??.

You need to verify WHERE you are loosing the signal.  PC? BOB? Cables? Relay?

OK I see 2 explanations and they are not the same.

1st

It blips the output then goes to the" dwell or sleep function after the ActivateSignal(OUTPUT7) line".

2nd
ActivateSignal(OUTPUT7). only

Which is it going to be ??

It is NOT a good idea to try and run a SUB from inside a MACRO  from Gcode. It could get VERY unpredictable.

There is another way around the problem. Load up the scanner as it normally would beused say in word.

Press the open Gcode button when that windows pops up try using the scanner on the barcode. Thge windows window SHOULD be active on the file name box and the scanner should scan in the filename by barcode.

What barcode mode  are you using. I found that 30f9 mode worked very well and was very easy to create the barcodes.
