Mach Screens / Re: reversing "A" axis rotation on toolpath display?
« on: March 27, 2013, 12:39:05 PM »
I assume that you are refering to Baxis in you example as it is inline with Y SO your chuck is moving CCw?

OK now show the point of origin of your code  is it lower left?  IF so then B positive would be to the right which would be CW tool motion or CCW chuck motion. Facing the chuck. YES?NO?

NOW there IS no real standard for the placement of the chuck on rotarys I know just as many that run it on the left as on the right as A axis. the exception being the B where MOST run it outboard to clear the column (mills).

NOW as to physical Chuck rotatation IF I swap from left to right I must rev the direction of the chuck to maintain toolpath orientation.

Does anyone here have a  full version of Visual Studio 2010 or newer and would be willing to compile a program for me ?

VB and the development of wizards / Re: gear changing possible?
« on: March 26, 2013, 01:40:12 PM »
YEs it can be done BUT while it sounds simple it would be a very complex function in mach3. There would have to be various safeties in the code involved to prevent BAD things from happening. Also your CAM would have to KNOW that is cannot just change speeds out of slot whenever it wanted. The speed changes would HAVE to be done at predetermend points in the program.

How does your machine change gears ?

What is the gear change sequence of events?

What are the speed ranges for each gear change?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Anyone have this happen to a design?

Looking at the Gcode I do NOT see the offset lines in the code.  NOW I will add this and please do not take it personal BUT the the conversion from the ART to vector is FAIR but you did NOT clean up the vector file  before continuing. There are a LOT of what I call fleas, short segments of lines attached to the contours. This is from the Conversion from raster to vector and needed cleaning up before you finish processing into a cut file. It is NOT an easy task to master and is a steep learning curve for most.

I do a LOT of this type conversion in plasma cutting and know the problems of raster to vector. There is NO one step conversion that I am aware of. LOTS of salesmen will tell you theirs is  BUT they are pulling your leg (stating it politely).

Every once in a blue moon I get a one step conversion that works BUT it is a RARE thing. Most require from SOME to A LOT of cleanup of the Vector drawing depending on the art.

If you post a copy of the art I can give it a try on this end just as a comparison.

General Mach Discussion / Re: ESC Reset Button...

You may want to ask DAVE that question over at MachStdMill. The esc button os ALSO the ESC function for macros so there may be a conflict ?

MACH TOOL BOX / Conversational Gcode Wizard
« on: March 25, 2013, 04:35:40 PM »
Guys Here is a wizard that allows you to create a Gcode program Directly in MACH3 using Gcode Commands. As you add line by line the tool path updates and shows you your move. You can add or delete line by line as you go.

It can create your header/safety block for you and will CLOSE OUT the program and allow you to NAME your program and save.

It also allows YOU to go OFFLINE with MACH3 so there is NO machine movement by accident. When you return to mach3 it put MACh3 back online in case you forget.

You can also dry run you program onscreen (Mach3 OFFLINE) so you can test the program for errors or OOPS.

Let me know if there is trouble or things you may need to add. I will give it a shot.

Just UNZIP the file into your ADDONS directory.

Captain it is just something I have running here. How would you want it ? As part of your screen set OR as a Wizard?
