The idea of reverse cut is so WHEN the cutting hicups and you loose cut you can stop and backup to the restart point and continue the process. Used with an MPG in shuttlemode you can simply turn the MPG and it will backup thru the code.

BUT it was never really finished to work as OTHER controllers do it.  Normally the mpg would control direction forward/  reverse BUT in MAch3 you have to jump through HOOPS to use it . AND at some point it may LOOSE control(;-)

Just a thought(;-) TP

Mach Screens / Re: Loading/selecting gcode files

I ran across the Code while working on something else . Hope it helps. You can also customize it to only show certain file types.

'Gcode Selection Box
Sub GcodeSelect
    Dim MyList()
    Begin Dialog GcodeFileDlg 60, 60, 190, 220, "Gcode file selection", .DlgFunc
        ListBox 10, 10, 150, 180, MyList(), .List1, 2
        CancelButton 42, 198, 40, 12

    End Dialog

    Dim frame As GcodeFileDlg

    ' Show the GcodeFile dialog
    Dialog frame
End Sub

Function DlgFunc( controlID As String, action As Integer, suppValue As Integer)

    DlgFunc = 1  ' Keep dialog active

    Select Case action
    Case 1 ' Initialize
        temp = Dir( "c:\Mach3\Gcode\*.*" )
        count = 0
        While temp <> ""
            count = count + 1
            temp = Dir
        Wend
        Dim x() As String
        ReDim x(count)
        x(0) = Dir( "c:\Mach3\Gcode\*.*" )
        For i = 1 To count
            x(i) = Dir
        Next i
        DlgListBoxArray "List1", x()

    Case 2 ' select
    Fname = (DlgText("List1"))
    LoadFIle("c:\Mach3\Gcode\" &DlgText("List1"))
    End

    End Select
End Function
End

Let me know if you cannot work it out I may have a working example here somewhere.

The macropump is not a great idea with this type of operation as it reads and writes 10 times per sec. It would constantly be writing the dros.

I would simply use the G54 commands or any other fixture offset when you need them.

Derek there is no reason for the SS to crap out just because it uses ARCS.  IF it really is then you need to get with Warp9 and get it fixed.

Mach3 has never really done micro segmented code well. The idea to correct this is to reduce the node counts with arcs instead of micro short lines.

Are you sure that the zigzag is NOT in your gcode?  OR does your machine have a bit of loosness in it that casuses the zig zag when Mach3 runs short line segments and it constantly startstop?

You may be able to tune some of it out with CV but it is mainly a test and tune situation with YOUR secific machine. NO magic numbers for all machines.
