Brains isn't a PLC it has a lot of limitations and quirks.

BUT IT can be done (;-)  You just have to figure out HOW to drive the axis to the index signal.

IF you are talking about the axis creep on the stopped axis while running the code YEP that is a BUG. It only does it on micro tool sizes such as .010 at about .1 it stabilizes and runs correctly.

Look under gen config and see if the watchdog timer is ON. If it is turn it off then save then shutdown Mach3 and restart.

Stirling has been working on a NEW version of his contour and surface scanning.

The ONLY surface scanner is the wizard in mach3 and it is the standard bed of nails approach. Not fast but dependable.

Stirlings does both the outside contour and the surface.

For 2d work I have a set of probing arrays inside and outside. They will scann the contour of an object and are tuneable . The new 3d probeing is a creepy crawling hill climbing critter. That crawls across the top of the surface and records point. It can even climb a vertical surface while gathering points.

There are glitches in mach3 that prevent the easy ways to do this so there is not much out there working as far as 3d probing routines.

An MCC file is a compiled Macro Script. You can not open and edit it. You would need the source code to do any modifications to the code.

(;-) I have been working on and testing a NEW 3d Probing routine that runs as a SUB routine in Gcode. Running in Gcode it is stone cold dependable and will probe as fast as you dare pushing your machine (;-). I have been probing at 100 ipm which in real world speed is actually an average of about 53 IPM taking into account the small moves. AND that used to be scary fast for Mach3 probing.

Hope to have it finished up soon. I have been beating up on it all day testing, So far SO good.

You also may want to check with Stirling on his new 3d routine.

His routine is the CAT"S MEOW , Mine is the RNPS routine (Red Neck Probing System)

At the MDI line type in G91.1 then enter  . That will set Mach3 for INC IJ's.  If that fixes it then you need to go to Gen Config and set the IJ's for INC.

The INC/Abs setting tells mach3 HOW to deal with the arc commands, whether to base it on incremental values or Absolute values.

It is IN the manual (;-)

I ran the code here and it was fine IF set to Inc.  The Wizard SHOULD have set G91.1 in the Gcode when it Wrote the program BUT it did NOT put the code into the program. (bug)

Could it be as simple as the machine is set for Abs not Inc IJ's and you are seeing crop circles.

I would simply MAKE them an offer you were comfortable with. What is the worst they can say ?   NO ? I do not think they would be a HOT seller ticket item.
