I have never seen it fail here. I even have pocketing routines based on it.

It ALWAYS moves the prescribed I distance and then the circle at that radius. Are you by chance running it in G91 mode instead of G90 ? Are you trying run it with tool comp?

NOW rememeber that the move is the center line of the tool NOT the tool radius. YOU have to do that math to get a proper sized cut.

In the 2nd routine look for a duplicate call of the MOVE. It can be a direct call OR a conditional responce you have coded in. IF the oldtool and newtool end up the same it will repeat the same move a second time.

MAP out all the moves on a piece of paper as you follow the code down through the program.

The message "(Z-Plate is grounded, check connection and try again)" is a message YOU told it to display every time the routine is run. There is NO conditional code for the routine to use to define IF it is to be displayed. It just tells it to display the message EVERY time. Also that is a chech routine that should be run at teh beginning of the routine NOT at the end of the routine.

The g13/13 works as defined. It uses the I to define the radius to be cut. THere IS no H parameter

G12 I1.000 F20

Moves out from the current position a value of the I parameter in the direction of 3 oclock. Then moves in a complete circle. Then returns down the straight line path it created to move to the original start point.

IT is not really a complete command as most controllers use the G12/13 to do a circular pocket.   Nor is it a complete circle command as it cuts a long leadin and leadout.

You can use the G12 to do circular pockets IF you are really creative and know Sub programming.

Video P*r*o*b*i*n*g / Re: Mach3 as manual Cmm using linear scales?
« on: September 27, 2013, 11:36:13 AM »
What you would do in this case is route your scales to the encoder input of Mach3. THis will give you a DISPLAY of the scales positions.

Then create a script to write the encoder DROs  EncX, EnxY,EnZ to a Pointfile . Use a keyboard hotkey to activate the button.

Then move to a position , use the button, move to position ,use the button.

I did this years ago and it worked fine for gathering points data. You can also create functions to make a Measurement frome point to point and return a value.

NOW there is NO standard feature in MAch3 for this. In stock form the best you can do is manual write the point data on paper then create a DXF from that data.

I later created the Probing arrays to do an auto profile of a part to gather all the points and write to file.  There is an exterior and interior array. They are in the Mach Tool Box section of this site.

Hood you have to be carefull not to take a big bite at a time You now have more Torque at a lower rpm. You may be on the edge of a 30 taper capacity to be able to hold the tool holder rigid. You will have a LOT more torque to take a bigger bite. Yes it still has the same KW but a very different torque band.

If your guage is correct and it appears to be, you are VERY LOW on pressure for the drawbar. We always used 1000psi for the no go on a 30 taper below that and heavy cuts could cause problems. Bet you have some broken spring washers in there. Best to fix it rather than worry about it "What IF".

Sounds like the CODE was switched from G20 to G21 Inch to metric in the new code.  IF OLD code works fine then I would look at the CAM.

DID you want to do it manually or in Auto mode?

Thomas My suggestion is to contact the MANF of your product and have THEM explain how their product is to work and interact with mach3. THAT is their responcibility.

We here have NO idea how the product is "suppose" to work or what the QUIRKs may be.

I CAN tell you the THC function works fine in MACH3 with a proper setup THCcontroller.

Does the DRIVER tab show up if so try doing an UPDATE to the driver. Point it to the CD that you got with the drivers installed.
