Yes you can use a 2nd LPT card and get all 6 axis if needed. Their electronic slaved axis was just a way to get all the axis needed with 1 LPT card to run a gantry style machine with a 4th axis.

Create a screen button with the code

SetMachZero(3)

OR create a Mcode such as M105 with the code

SetMachZero(3)

Run as needed where needed from either the Button or the Mcode call in Gcode or from the MDI.

OK What makes you think you need to square the gantry more than once at startup?  Servos do not loose steps.

Was your gantry built/installed square?

I have cut endless miles of material with a plasma table without constantly resquaring the gantry.

At most at the end of your table install a set of stops that allow the gantry to be square when bumped up against the stops. Jog over next to the stops turn off the drives and push the gantry up against the stops , turn the drives back on, done deal.

I would guess than you have a dwell setup for the spindle with a LARGE value and every time you call the spindle M3 to start it is waiting on the dwell to finish before starting.

What is iside of the M1101 ? It is possible for mach3 to jump over the next Gcode line AFTER a macro is run. Do you end with a While Ismoving()

Mach3 is not the controllers it is just the software package that runs the controllers  . How well everything holds up depends on how you build it. Mach3 can run 24/7 for as long as your PC stays alive. The machine itself ?

You do not have the 4th axis linked for feed rate coordination. As you ave it set it only moves at teh current feedrate in DEGs per minute not INCH per minute.

GOTO Config/Toolpaths

Then look at Rotations, select the axis of rotation (normally X), Select Rotations enabled, then select USE radius for feedrate

NOW go to the Settings page. Top right under Rotational radius and set the part's radius (diameter/2).

NOW Mach3 will correct the 4th axis feedrate (up to the top speed of the A xis) .
