YA don't have to "agree" with every function BUT you must conform to the NORMAL operations of the masses. There are already enough HYBRID MONKEY controllers out there that make training across multiple platforms a BEAST for management AND operators.

OK 2 quick ones. The manual states you can have a starting radius. This is obviously to do a circluar groove and leave a solid boss at the center. COOL but seeing as you have no Z axis control from inside the call HOW are you going to cut it ? the Move starts at the circle of rotation. You have to program the Z before the G12 call so it will cut to depth at the center point then move OUT to the start point position CUTTING thru the boss.

Start of cut offset around the radius with IJ . Not sure of that point as you are cutting a circular path 360 deg around the point. WHY does it matter where it starts ? If there is something in the way you are going to hit it anyway or anywhere you start (;-)  In MOST canned cycles you have the OPTION to where you start based on 0.000 deg(3 oclock) or offset that in DEGs positive (CCW) or Neg(CW).

OK that is pretty much not going to happen.

ALL your probes SHOULD be the same as to N.C. switch function (safest). The other type (NO)came about because people would not spend the time and/or money to do it correctly.

THAT problem was solved in MACH 4 you can have multiple probes and DEFINE the operation of each one.

GUYS could you do a BUTTON that emulates a probe trip.  I would like to test probing (;-)

I have tried but cannot do the LUA thing. It is about a mile above my abilities, been trying about a year now between SheetCam and Mach4 . NOTTA going to happen.

Protected Move mode to protect the probe. (vital)

Reverse mode G31 where the it probes into a part then stops and reverses back out to the switch remake then stop and record positions. This speed up some routines as you do not have to back off the switch to be able to probe in another direction.

Probe tip compensation so that the positional values are accurate to the tip used. (very handy, vital). Do it as a tool table entry to define tip radius AND switch travel.

Built in Probe calibration routine based on the ball and bar routine(vital)

Torque limited move mode to protect the machine. (nice to have)

Full Function G12/13 mode. (HAAS style, Nice to have, not vital)

Control  page showing ALL the System # vars values  accessable from Gcode (VITAL)

Gcode window to dispaly Gcode #var as VALUES on the fly. ( Very Nice to have)

Could you also consider "Protected Move" mode for Mach4. It is a must have for protecting an expensive probe/tip.

HIYA Brian I never said it should be like Haas(but would be nice if it was(;-)) and Fanuc does not have a G12/13 it was removed years ago from fanuc controls they went to a sub program to do circular pocketing.

I was just lettiing you know the current G12/13 had some glitches/oddities. Your choice to fix them or not.

(;-) I am BAD, I just tested it and it was fixed somwhere along the line to work right.

Sorry, (;-) TP

Here it never worked without the G4p0. Art is the one that explained to me how to make it work. The problem was HOW the MACH3 saw the loop indicator. It was NOT when the operation actually ran BUT when it was loaded into the buffer.  The G4p0 stopped the buffer load at that point allowing teh indicator to be seen.  Otherwise the count was processed all at once and the DRO actually displayed them all at WARP speed and you could not follow it.

What do you mean by active or passive probing
