General Mach Discussion / Re: return from sub
« on: April 17, 2015, 10:32:09 PM »
Mach4 YES, Mach3 NO. they are 2 different DAWGS.

Mach3 does not have conditional Gcode so there is little need to return to anything other than the original sub call.

WELL it can be done BUT (;-) WHY ?

I think that the sub call can only return back to the original sub call.

You called the sub from the M98 P1001 . It will run the sub then the M99 will  return  back to the original sub call.    Then run the code until the required M30.

It would normally look like this.

G90 G00 X0 Y0 Z0
G00 X1.0 Y1.0 Z0.0
G01 F10.0 Z-0.2
G00 Z0.0
X0.1 y0.1
M98 P1001
G00 X2.0 Y2.0
M30
o1001
M99
%

THe M98 can call a LOCAL sub or an OUTSIDE sub.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

VB and the development of wizards / Re: THC needs 3 signals
« on: April 17, 2015, 02:39:46 PM »
First off you cannot use M10/M11 by changing the script in the listed macro. The M10/m11 macros are INTERNAL to mach3.  All you need to do is simply set up your output to activate/deactivate the THC lets say pin 5.

The call M11 P5 will activate the signal( ouput5) on the very next step of any axis.  The M10 P5 will deactivate the signal(output5) on the very next step of any axis.  The exact order of execution will depend on if your output is active high or low.

That solves the THC control for corner slowdown.

You also cannot use any outside( other than the one coded into the Mcode P ) param() with the M10/M11 OR for that matter nether can you use Param() on M3/M4/M5 .

To solve the "motion wait for signal "  you USE the arcOK signal. When the THC has done its thing and it fires the torch the ARC OK signal will tell Mach3 to start motion.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

What exactly is it that you are trying to do ?? I would love to help BUT I have no idea as to what you need. Do you have a picture of the machine ??

General Mach Discussion / Re: Ref X/Y tweak to give dead space...

To set a work offset move to a position then press ZeroX ZeroY  or Zero ALL. This sets the new work offset position as X0 Y0 (point of Origin).

ALL the G30 does is return to the machine 0,0 position. NOTHING more    IF you want that position to become the new work offset you again ZeroX ZeroY to reset it.

Just as a reference  I cut(plasma) every day. I never reference the machine nor do I use the limits/softlimits  . You should know if the part fits the table. You have access to the XY travel extents on screen and you have a tape measure ??  IF it is really close then run the profile( outside offset) with the torch off to see IF it fits the material BEFORE you try to cut it.

I also have macros that will auto advance a repeat part either vertically or horizonally. It resets the new 0,0 to Extents(X or Y) + .250 automatically so all I do is press the V Adv or H Adv button then Start.

Just a thought(;-) TP

I simply move to the PART 0,0 set Zero all (X,Y) then CUT. When that is done move to the new PART 0,0 and repeat.  Takes all the BRAIN work out of the equation (;-)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Zoom without mouse wheel??
« on: April 15, 2015, 10:53:30 AM »
Mach3 will automatically ZOOM TO the ToolPath selection. IF you have selected TABLE then it zooms to TABLE size. IF it is PART it zooms to PART size.

I will check on the zoom without wheel deal.  BUT I don't think you can.

OK IF you want it to stop at a manual tool change then CHECK(select) the  Manual tool change option. THEN restart Mach3 and check to make sure the setting chnage took place.

You would want to save the MXL file as it contains ALL the machine settings.

IF you use the ignore tool change option it will NOT stop for a tool change it will continue on as you requested it to do .

What you described is Manual Tool Change option. It  stops and waits for you to change the tool and then you press Cycle start to continue.

What version of Mach3 are you running ?
