Full steping is where most steppers have a midband resonance problem . I t is not always SPEED(Velocity ) where a problem shows up it is Accelleration that causes the most problems. I believe there is some info on resonance on the Gecko website.

Does your drive have the option to microstep ??

I am not sure WHY you are fiddling with the shuttle settings as that ONLY deals with backlash responce.   You should be able to do a seacrh on this site for dampers.

I am not sure of your steps per settings but with 3:1 gearing and possibly micro stepping and then Screw gearing it may be too low of a final gear ratio for  steppers ??  You want to keep the motors inside of their torque band.

SHOW me another CNC controller that can run native windows using the LPT ports .  There are none (;-) TP

 Sometimes to make the primary purpose (CNC controller) work  you find there are limitations to what you can do. Such is the case of Conditional Gcode in Mach3.

So would you want NO CNC controller or one that has limitations in areas that MOST people  never use

DOn't take me wrong as I am an advocate of conditional programming (;-)  BUT you cannot always have your cake and get to eat it too for a $159 6axis CNC controller that runs in windows with the LPT ports

OK there are 2 servos one drives the tufting head ( C axis )  and the other(Z axis) does what ?  Why don't you simply program the stops and starts in the Gcode program ??

Mach3 uses Standard toolpath orientation for toolpath display . If you think it is backwards then your Axis directions are backwards. It is based on Tool travel. not neccesarily on  Machine travel.  For example bed mills run backwards compared to knee mills.

The drives sound like they are running into midband resonance. You can add dampners or change drives to ones that do midband corrections for resonance.

OR you acceleration setting it too high for your system. Reduce by 25% then retest.

Well that is the good thing about fair market no one forces you to use it (;-) . After 10 years of using it I have not found anything that I cannot make that I do with Conditional programming. Most user do NOT hand program.

One of your settings of MAX is LESS than the MIN value. That would be an error as Max HAS to be larger than Min.

There is no difference of counting to a stop point or preplanning the number of moves to get to the stop point (;-) But instead of counting up you count down to zero.   Been there done that.
