Another way it to use the Gcode Vars 500-600

You would do Feedhold until it stopped motion THEN " stop" THEN  run from here. 

When you did the run from here did the RFH dialog box pop up ? IF not then you need to turn it on so you can see where Mach3 is going to go to get back to the start point. It will normally show you if it is going to do something stupid.

That was the point of using a HOTWIRE cam it KNOWS where the low spots are compared to the high spots (;-) WITH any straight hotwire you will have the same issue even if you use your Gcode file. as it has no idea what is left or right of the centerline it is cutting on.

You would cut the front then back then left then right and then the diagnals (corners) to rough it. THen Router the rest. It only has to get close.

OR cut it the radial mode around A with the wire running parralell to A . just cut to the largest diameter of the part.

Some stepper drives will loose a step on reversal IF the polarity of the signal is wrong.

You are correct (;-)  Mach Screen WILL open the button codes. HUMMM , so much for password protection.

It used to give a message about being protected code.

OH well,  it is what it is I guess.

You can make the  G31 travel distance a variable then add a simple DRO to the screen so that you can set the distance. You could change the value to the Max distance you would ever use BUT if it missed the hit it could crash the probe. Best to have it as a safeguard for overtravel.

Also IF you were just using the wizard code to find the center of a circle there are Mcodes around that can do that as well. They are also programable as to travel distance.

What version of copycat are you using ? Last I new Copycats code was password protected. Did you crack the password ??
