Try putting a spindown delay on your M3 (CW) function. It shoudl stop motion until it clears the Spindown time.

Also check the immediate relay off before spindown box

First the 01 is an invalid word. to name it it must use the o1 word not a ZERO 1

You are calling to USE tool #3  M6T3

BUT you are calling the COMP to use tool#33  D33.

Also there is really no reason to comp each and every move down through the helix Just comp it at the beginning and remove at the end . IF you are doing it to get a smooth transition then just program a small circle coming out of the circle end move and back into the beginning move. During that small transition move lower the Z to the next cut step. It makes it much faster and just as smooth running/cutting

HIYA John we have converted Music to Mach3 and have MAch3 making music(steppers) but never had Mach3 do poetry . But I guess it could IF you turn on SPEAK and program the poem.

HiYA Dave, as long as the machine is calibrated correctly as far as steps per. Mach3 WILL maintain its speed precisely. THe ONLY time Mach3 will vary is when the kernal spped may vary a touch from the defined kernal speed.

Defined = 25000
actual = 24900

Then speed will be off by  .004

For the Motor you WILL need a speed controller that can use either Step/Direction or PWM  OR you can add another board and do 0-10v to drive the controller. As to the encoder NO it will not work you will need a single pulse and I would make it 50% on/off duration for each rev to give Mach3 time to see the signal at speed.

You can USE soft limits BUT you will have to manually set the Home Position every time you start up Mach3.  Easy to do just bump the face of the chuck and set Z home  and the side of the chuck to set X home offset.

That normally indicates that something in MAch3 is corrupt . try reloading Mach3 from scratch.

You will have to change the resolution of the DROS in Mach3 (easy)  but yes you can call any move that equals to 1 step of the drive . Mach3's DISPLAY WILL round the last decimal place UP SO for .00001 you would set the dros for .000000 or the min Plus 1 decimal point.

BUT if you quiry the DRO through script you WILL get the Raw number which may be as long as 13 decimals

You have it wrong. It is acting as it should.  it HAS to cache the steps as the machine cannot move as fast as you can  turn the mpg.NOW some machines can run in MPG velocity mode . MPG Vel mode in Mach3 does not work well.
