Newfangled Mill Wizard / M4 and Mill Wizard

HI RON, I noticed the old version had a link to Mach4 and the latest version does not . I still see that the mach4  HOTKEY will open the older version still.

Are you going to be able to use Mill Wizard from inside MACH4

If not there is a solution I have tested and works.

YES you can(;-). Set up a button to open another instance of the gedit program and edit away while Mach4 runs another program.

Mach4 General Discussion / ScreenSet Question

Looking at the standard screen set I notice that teh lower section follows all screens and WASTES a large portion of the screen PAGE(tab) when those functions have no use for on the page.

I only see the need for it to be on 1-3 pages at most.

Can you set all the other pages to NOT have all that at the bottom.
 

OR do I need to wipe it out out and start over puitting functions where they are needed on each page(tab) ??

Mach4 General Discussion / New posibilities

Here is a sample of a Mach4 Manuals page where you can read the manuals AND a page were you can access THE NFS Mill Wizard and be running mach4 cutting a part and creating the next part at the same time.

 It is a little shaky on running the Wizard, IF you MOVE the window Mach4 will stop untill you release the window grab.
But it DOES seem to work.

I created a Wizard part then load into Mach4 and ran while I created another part and saved ready to run. AND did a third part.


Interesting, AND I am sure there is a better way to do this BUT it worked.

I do not see a way to bring in your OWN images only the prepackaged ones can you access.

Where are the Images stored ??

Mach4 General Discussion / Testing new stuff

OK I have beat up on MAch4 for most of the Gcode stuff that I can without being able to MOVE the machine.

I could suggest a read of a  Fanuc and HAAS Gcode manual

AND  it is what it is  AND what it does have does work well so far (;-) and should be very familar with most folks.

Just remember MACH3 it is NOT in many ways. RTFM

 IS there anything NEW ready yet ??

M4 Manuals are accessable from inside Mach4 from the Mach4 manuals page.

Not as easy as a DIR selection Script  BOX would be BUT it works AND you can read and run MAch4 at the same time.

As new Instruction manuals are written you can add them to the page for direct access.

Mach4 General Discussion / Viewing #var values

Is there anyway to view a #var value ? or a system #var for that matter. Can the Value be written to the status bar ??

In mach3 we had a Var monitor and I had a VarValue report I could run to check on things.

Can we generate a #3000 error in Mach4 and it stop the program with message ? or feedhold?

HIYA Brian,

 I see from the probing notes you included that when a Probe file is OPEN and the G31 reaches the end point without tripping that it WRITES the endpoint values to file.

Could we PLEASE have it so that instead of writing the endpoints it writes an error code for each axis to the file. IF it reaches the endpoint then it IS an error probing wise. AS it is there is virtually no way to find the missed points in a 3d probe file.

Also could you please make that error show up as an LED flashing. It means 1 of 2 things the programming is OFF and it is missing things OR the probe TIP is broken

This was a big problem in MACH3.
