FAQs / E-stop not working

Hello All,

I am having trouble getting the E-Stop to work.
I am using Mach3 and the C10 rev10 board.
On the C10 the input jumper is set across 2-3 for pull-up.
The E-stop is across 10 and 5V.
I have the Z-zero (probe) on 12 and the board ground which is working fine.
In Mach3 pin setup:
E-stop is enabled to Port #1, Pin #10 & Active low
Probe is enabled to Port#1, Pin #12 & Active low

If I change the C10 input jumper across 1-2 for pull-down the E-stop works
and the Z-zero stops working.

I am curious how others have setup their E-stop.
Any help is appreciated,

Thanks for the reply. I found the Safe Z setup.
Mine showed a checkmark on Allow Safe_Z moves and Safe_Z in an incremental rise, Safe_Z = 1.
Will unchecking the Allow Safe_Z moves disable it?

Hello,

I have managed to glean the answer to many of my problems from reading through past posts. Now I am having a problem with my Z-axis that I haven’t found an answer to. I have my Z-axis set to automatically zero itself using the touch plate, works like a charm. The DRO zeros itself and the Z-axis travels to +2.5”. I have also installed a USB camera to zero the X-axis & Y-axis, also works like a charm. My problem is that after I zero all axis's and then hit the “Go to Zero” button under the DRO’s the Z-axis will travel upwards until it bottoms out, which throws the Z-axis off, and then it proceeds downward trying to punch through the table. I am assuming it should travel downward to where the bit is at zero above the work piece. Hope this makes sense. Can someone shed some light on this problem or my thinking.

Thanks for the reply. The Auto Tool Zero seems to working fine now by following the wiring diagram and tweaking the button file slightly. Initially the moment I touched the tool to the plate the z-axis would deadhead out at the top of the travel, but it is working as expected now. I just purchased the license and awaiting its arrival.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my problem. I was hoping that someone else also has done this with a C10 board and could explain to me how they accomplished a working "Auto Tool Zero" on their machine.

I am trying to install the Z-Axis auto tool zero. I am using the CNC4PC C-10 rev 10 board and have the screen installed with the Auto Tool Zero. I have tried to read all the instructions that I can find on setting this up but no joy. At present I have a single wire coming off the zero plate to input pin 12 (that is pulled down on C10). In Mach3 I have the probe enabled and set port 1 and pin 12. The machine table, router tool, etc are all grounded. I wire electrical panels for a living but all of this pulling pins high or low is confusing to me. If you can show me where I am going wrong I would appreciate it. This is the last item I need to have my router fully functional.
