thanks for the reply. the rope border is from vector art. i am not sure if it will work on anyother program than theirs. it is a 3vm. their program is free. its called 3vm machinist and then you have to purchace the models. i am not to good at this cad thing but its a work in progress. i can't seem to load it in this reply either. i'll keep trying.

ibb, what program do you use to down size the deer? i was thinking of making some coasters out of 3.25 dia. aluminum with a rope boarder on the outside edge. the total id. counter bore is 2.875 x.o84 deep. thats where the deer will be placed. just wondering. thanks. tom

well i finally got to get back to my problem after takeing care of some personal problems on the home front. come to find out that the monitor that i got for christmas is not suitable for cad design thus the term wide screen. i did find the hidden buttons for the menu and went through the menu to find the full and wide setting and all is good.i dont have the full screen view but it is larger than the old monitor and i can view it as a normal drawing. so just a big thankyou to ger21 for your response. didnt know you were so close to me. i'm in brooklyn, mi. jackson county. thanks again, tom

i've had that problem once. 4 flute, depth of cut and the style of grind on the cutter is all a factor. changed to a cutter that is made (ground ) for al. and soft metals worked great. ER collets will have slippage if the cutter force is to great. try to use 2 flute and look in your tool supplier for cutters for al. good luck
