FAQs / not sure what happened

havent ran the mill for awhile so i needed to do a simple job and the machine moves half of what the dro says it moves. plus and error came up with safe Z turned off, ignoring safe z moves. not sure what changed. maybe one of you guys can point me in the right direction. thanks  tom

that is very cool.but like mc said, we need a little more info. and i do have a ?. how does one take a pic like this and end up with a g-code in the end? i am new to all this dxf, resize, transport, import and who knows what ever else there is. just asking.

thanks again for your comments. the wood is a factor in which i plan on exploring. i have always (30 plus years) machined all types of metals being a toolmaker, i just find myself being to picky in the detail and finish of a job. i was told about a saw mill in my area and i think i need to go check it out. this piece was red oak but i hear alder(sp) is great for machining. any info would be great.

thanks. took a few hours but it was fun. had only 2 days to finish it. its going to my son and daughter-in-law as a going away gift. they are moving to tenn. so i thought this would be nice for them to hang their hat in the new house.

thought i'd post my first job on this new router i got. its 32 in. long and 7.5 in. tall oak. 1/4 in ball for the rough cut and 1/8 in. ball for the finish cut.

strange as it seems i just went out to do it again on my pc and the darn thing is working normal and i didn't change a thing. wierd but i changed some numbers and it still showed the cross hairs in the middle. well im not gonna loose any sleep over it. lol

i have had mach in my computer for a taig mill for two years and it accepts fanuc language and the v3m from vector art. this new mach i just got with a router system doesn't like fanuc or the oter. my question is is how to get the two pc's on the same page?

funny thing is that if the config is wrong than it would translate to all functions, yes? called a friend of mine in indiana and told him of the problem so he got on his computer and he to came up with the same thing. don't no what to make of it. unless there was a fix for it some time back.

ok ron, never mind. i totally forgot the license in the mach 3 folder was called Wizlic.dat. sooo as soon as i put that in, it works like a charm. thought i was loosing my friggin mind. lol
