Converted two 4 cell MagLites to one 3.6volt rechargeable cell. Loving this lathe to cut ID and OD threads 27mm 1mm pitch. Makes a great lite next to the bed.

Adding more features and options, working on being able to import a Drawing file and then scribble around in it.
Setting the size of the working area then fit image to limits.
Not sure if I can set a home position, but think it might be possible to click on a spot and make it 0,0
I can click on a spot and get its location just haven't figured out how to shift the coordinates.
Good thing to work on while its snowing and blowing outside.

Brains Development / Re: DELTA-E VFD MODBUS BRAIN Help Needed

Sorry I'm a little new to this thread and issue, but where is the modbus connections and it looks like your switched for current but supplying 0-10v

I just bought a Delta EL and have just started looking into how to implement it for my needs, so am viewing your thread with interest.

Just that what I see in your photo made me scratch my head. Maybe I'm missing something from what I read in the document that came with my drive!

Hell I might be all wet, as I just put power to it to see if it at least spins my motor. It does... now to figure out how I want to control it. So I hope you get your issue figured out.

Playing around with a sketch to gcode routine, the wider the line the deeper the depth of cut. Converts pixel locations to x and y values. Would be pretty good for Watcom tablets and tracing those bar napkins. Shows the location in the status bar and only writes to the file when left button is pressed.

Thanks, Did that  ;)

got the 6th axis mounted and almost fully tuned, looking like it just might be a viable feature. I'm liking it.  :)

with the newest version of mach4 (2209) scaling is now checked with a new command.
scale = mc.mcAxisGetScale(inst, axis)

I created a little test script to see.

You set an axis scale with a g51 and turn them off with a g50 (note: g50 reset all the axis scales to 1)

Thanks Guys, Yes I'm having FUN

Though Not a true power workhouse, This thing does have some versatility.  ;)

Used ArtCam for shape design from dxf file and then to create the stl file, Rhino to position the stl object in 3d space, DeskProto to generate the gcode, then a text editor to swap the axis's to the lathe profile.

Takes Years, a lot reading and then Trial & Error till it finally starts to make sense.
Now to see if I can write a post processor for Rhino5/MadCam 5axis

Lot more head/brain work than designing & building Progressive or Deep Draw Dies.  :o
