General Mach Discussion / Re: How to split gcode into 2 parts or more..
« on: January 06, 2013, 06:41:51 AM »
Those are questions to ask YOUR cam software people.
(;-) TP
3AM on a Saturday night (now what could I read into that? LOL)

My advise to splitting programs is to only post one tool to a gCode file. Or create some new text files by cut and past at a tool change and use a safe start stop routine.

Yes, all created vectors and joined, then cut out the Celtic weave in the inner cross. Cross was just two rectangles, trimmed then rejoined to create the closed shape. Then did a vector offset of the cross for the outside shape. Whole thing took 30 minutes tops. Took longer to join the parallel lines to create the cross hatch weave. Just because it is tedious process. You have to learn to use layers for vectors and reliefs.

Good Luck

it would be a chip load issue, that only a controlled feed change would accomplish.
Faster speeds produce more ... SMOKE

How about a function that determines feed rates based on cutting load. Knots create... SMOKE!

Due to gravity I'd bet, that's why you will see some z axis build units use a counter balance or a 10:1 gear reduction.

Great work Grandpa TP
and thanks for posting your results Tweakie

It might be a good idea to also post what Mach3 version any project was developed with and any version it was tested with. History has proven things pop up to cause issues with some versions.

Happy Holidays.
