Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Odd Issues with NFS Wizards
« on: December 26, 2010, 01:00:28 AM »
I have some odd issues with the NFS wizards were I select my material, then my tool, then say for example I go into Cut Circle.
I enter all my values and click Preview and nothing happens, if I click Post code nothing happens.  If I click cancel I get back to the Milling Operation Screens but clicking Exit does not return me to the main Mach Screen and really does nothing.

Operation List works, and shows a blank and Verify Toolpath works which shows no tool paths. Clicking on Exist still does not return me.

When this occurs, I generally have to keep swapping screens back and forth before it will actually start working correctly.

I upgraded to version 2.85 and I still have the issue and I'm using the very latest lock down version of Mach R3.042.040

All the Mach menu items work fine

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Re: Newfangled shapes
« on: December 16, 2010, 11:22:40 PM »
Very old thread I see but one I would really like would be the 22mm Panel holes with the little locating tang facing into the hole.  Industrial 22mm Pilot holes.

Richard

As many of you know cutting out control panels is NO fun... SO we at Newfangled Solutions have come up with an other new idea. What we have running now is a shape wizard that is part of the Add-on for mill. This shape wizard can take a gcode file and rotate, shiftX, shiftY scale and do cutter comp if file has cutter come. You may think okay what is so cool about that... Well I just did a file that has 6 DB25 cutouts 3 at 45deg and 3 more  at 135deg. The wizard will set the depth and the step depth of the file as well... SO why did I post???? I would like to know what shapes I should have added to this?
Thank you
Brian

I installed 3.042.033

Now, that made all the difference in the world. Nice looking threads !!!

You know, I even search the forums here for Threading Problems and it never pulled that forum thread up.
So I guess the last stable version isn't 034 like it said  :(

Thanks for all the help !!!!

To answer some of the questions:  Yes, it's Licensed.  The Demo wouldn't thread at all.
I'm using the current, stable release: 3.042.034

Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Turn + Threading problems
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:32:02 PM »
Hello to all.  I'm a new Mach3Turn user and I finally got all my settings and calibrations done.  My motor tuning turned out fine and extended testing show no lost steps and my travel is correct.  I run a 4.500" OD Disc on my spindle, with a single notch of 0.250" wide.  My spindle speed in Mach3 is dead on as verified with a photo tach and is steady.

I'm sure I'm overlooking a setting somewhere, but my problem is that my threads that are cut  (Using simple threading wizard) come out really bad, as in no threads.  The first past is correct, the seconds pass seems like it's 180 out because the threads are between the first set of threads.  The third pass pretty much takes all the threads off.  The fourth pass looks like it's correct  and so on.  I end up with the final finish looking like a metal file !!!

Can anyone give me ideas where to look in order to correct this please?

Richard
