I just had a thought not sure if this is possible, could my 1/4 bit cutting up to 1" deep be flexing?

Yes, I checked the tool first it's within 1/2 thou so really close.  The code is generated by Vcarve.  I get a full circle or rectangle just a bit undersize.  It's strange if I were loosing stps I would think the circle would become a elipse etc.  I checked to make sure the feed screwes were tight also.

Where is thge circle picket wizard?

I am not sure what to look for.  I am pocket cutting and the rectangle is coming out approximately 1/64 of an inc undersize.  This happens even when I cut a round pocket or hole.  I have not noticed a problem until I went to fit a clock insert into a hole that was too small.  All the other carving seems to be correct but I am not sure I would notice a small error is it were consistant.  But when you put 1" peg into a 1" hole that is quite noticeable.  actually I made the opening 1/32 larger than the insert for a bit of clearance and it was still tight ....  Any ideas what I should check?

I have looked at so many I am confused now, seems they are all the BEST if you read all the Bull.....I need someone with experience with these to advise the best to use.

I am currently using a split coupler but it keep loosening up I am not sure why.  Maybe That is the best and I have a bad one something.

The couplings I am using now are Single Split Couplings

Thanks Phil, I sort of thought that but for a router I think the 4 TPI is probably the right way to go.  that is what I am runningbut have to do some major work on the drive system for more reliability and thought if I need to change them now is the time.

I have couplings connecting the motor to the drive screw and they are split tubes with set set screws at each end and have a tendency to loosen up I have to fix that ..... I am looking now for a better coupling arrangement.

Found it, thanks Hood..........

I have one more sort of related question.  The lead screw being 4 turns per inch if I were to change that to 10 turns per inch the stepper will have to turn faster to move the same distance have I imporved the accuracy.  Maybe a better way to phrase that question is "does the lead screw thread per inch have any bearing on the accuracy of the move?

Does anyone know what this adjustment is for?  I have looked all over trying to figure out what it is supposed to do and cannot find any information on it.  I am not sure if I need adjust or not but first I have to find out what I am adjusting,
