General Mach Discussion / DRO question
« on: October 01, 2018, 09:23:53 AM »
Finally almost finished with configuration but something is strange not sure why.  When I auto zero Z the DRO registers correctly 2" where I set it to be after zeroing but when I look at machine coordinates I see a crazy number like .485 I am not sure why it is not agreeing with my work coordinates.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  <a href="http://" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://</a>

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 startup problems
« on: September 28, 2018, 01:00:07 PM »
recently had a computer crash, not smart but did not have backup of my XML configuration so needless to say it's a start over.  I downloaded the new version version R3.043.062 managed to get everything running again with the help of CNCrouterparts.  I now have a few bugs I am not able to get rid of.

startging Mach3 all is normal REF all home all is normal, now I move to the MDI screen to move to a specific spot I am notable to employ any Gcode commands until I hit reset again.  Now once I move if I move back home ref all home again now as normal the machine dro and the work dro does not aggree if I tryt to reset the work dro it will not reset.  If I hit reset button then it will zero and we start all over I am finding to do most anything after I ref all home I  need that reset button a lot.  This just is noty normal from my old configurationn  If anyone can help on this it would be greatly appreciated  I have been working on this for a week now with NO progress

General Mach Discussion / G=code question
« on: January 14, 2015, 05:24:46 AM »
My machine is setup at 48,48 I ref all home so now the machine has the bit at 0,0.  I move to a tool location for cutting say 6,0 and zero my DRO.  at the end of my cut normally I see I return to the DRO or part cut 0,0.  If I issue a command like x48 y48 is this move based upon my machine cord or the part cord?   I read where the G28 I believe will move to the soft limits I am confused by that I just can't seem to get my head around what is happening.

General Mach Discussion / Finished and tested the CRP4848 Machine (GREAT)
« on: January 01, 2015, 02:11:14 PM »
Had a few problems on the way nothing really major and a lot of MY confusion.  After building using their electronic package for the Nema 23 with 3/8 shaft using the proximity switch package they offer this is really great.  After the assembly with measurements mostly by their methods using parts for spacers etc, I just cut into the waste board 1/6 deep a 36" x 36" square and corner to corner less than a 1/64 error.  It appears to be exact but I am sure it's not that good but you cannot measure it.  the Z axis I checked with a dial indicator and the error was in full travel less then .0015  Not bad.

I would recommend this kit to anyone it's really well built and the technical support is the best even through the holidays.  As you can tell I am quite pleased with this system.  My retired router max speed cut was about 50" per this one I cut at 200 and could probably push it a bit harder with enough router on the unit.

What I am trying to do is move the tool after cutting to a position on the table say to the rear out of the way for easier loading and unloading the table.  The code generated in Vcarve moves the tool back to the original  home position.  I am not sure if I change that in Mach or in Vcarve and then HOW? The best would be if I can pick a position on the table say at 0,48 to the far right rear of the table then once reloaded move back to 0,0 and I am ready to go again.

General Mach Discussion / setting 0,0
« on: December 27, 2014, 09:40:01 AM »
I finally got my DRO,s in agreemjent but when I move to a ne location to set 0,0 for a job the Zero key does not work.  What setting do I need to change to allow me to reset the work 0,0 to the new location?

when I home the router all is well until I select the machine coordinate button.  in machine coordinates all is 9 but I have these crazy numbers like -89.0988 on the DRO when unselected?  I am sure I have something set wrong just not sure what I am looking for.

General Mach Discussion / Jog mode problem
« on: December 23, 2014, 05:47:43 AM »
I seem to have encountered a problem with the jog mode setup in Mach.  when I start Mach3 the default is to step not continuous jog.  This started when I purchased a pendant "remote control" I am not able to get Mach to default to continuous jog.  Is there a way to do this?

General Mach Discussion / Tool Zeroing
« on: November 28, 2011, 10:16:24 AM »
I have looked at several posts for tool zero macros etc. tried several but with no success.  I obviously do not unerstand how htis works.  One I was really interested in was a simple copper plate of a known thicknedd two leads one to the controller and the other to the tool with a cli[ when the tool touched the copper it would auto register a prefixed dimension of the copper plate.  I tried many ways to make this work I needf help this would save me a lot of time if I can get it to work.
