General Mach Discussion / Re: Spindle DRO not working in Mach3 Turn
« on: August 23, 2010, 03:56:51 PM »
Hood, thanks for taking the time to reply,
Spindle relay IS in place, to the Homann Digispeed, as follows:
Enable port 2 pin 17
Output 1 to relay on Digispeed port 2, pin 16 (cw)
Typing M3 S100 in the MDI box turns on the VFD and I have 100 rpm at the spindle. Pressing the spindle start button with 100 entered in the speed select box has exactly the same result. (other speeds selected give different results at the spindle, but that's another issue)
Over the last 2 days I've tried moving the spindle index pin to other inputs (on both bobs), with exactly the same result..... no or innacurate spindle true DRO.
Regards,
Baffled, UK.

General Mach Discussion / Spindle DRO not working in Mach3 Turn
« on: August 23, 2010, 09:31:12 AM »
Hello !
Mach3 Turn R3.042.040 licenced. Homann Digispeed, Emerson Commander SK VFD. Homann MB02 V6 BOBs.
.375" slot on 7.5" disc
Spindle motor output checked
PWM checked
PWM base frequency 1000
Min PWM 0
Spindle speed averaging checked
Index enabled on port 1 pin 15, active high.
Voltage output from opto with slot at the sensor is 4.92v

At any speed above 100, the Spindle true DRO shows either 13 or 14, below that it shows 0. I've tried the Index debounce at many values between 0 and 1000, to no avail. Can anyone please tell me what's going on here, before I go raving mad? (or madder, some would say).
Regards,
John

I hope so, one thing which would really bring Mach3 Turn up to almost industry standards would be a fully functional "teach" facility, like some of the Haas machines have.
It seems that Turn has been rather neglected in favour of the multi-axis stuff. Due to demand, no doubt.

John.

General Mach Discussion / MPG's not working.
« on: July 30, 2010, 08:39:15 AM »
Good Afternoon.

I'm running a fully licenced Version R3.042.040 Mach3 Turn and 2 MPG's. The bob is one of Peter Homanns MB-06, which (most conveniently) has led's for each input and output pin, so you can see what's going on.
When I turn either of the MPG's I can see the relevant led flashing on the bob and the dro's in the diagnostics screen are working but I'm getting no movement of either axis.
I've calibrated both MPG's and my config settings are:
MPG1: A port 1, A pin 10, B port 1, B pin 11, counts 4, velocity 280
MPG2: A port 1, A pin 12, B port 1, B pin 13, counts 4, velocity 280
Debounce is set to 2000

I sincerely hope that one of the Mach Gurus can help me with this.

Regards,
John.

General Mach Discussion / Re: MPG dro
« on: July 30, 2010, 08:16:31 AM »
Thank you Rich.

I've tried that but the MPG dro's don't reset.  I suppose that resetting MPG 2 must not be supported by Mach3.
Anyway, I now have further bother with the MPG's which I've posted in a new topic "MPG's not working"

Regards,
John.

General Mach Discussion / MPG dro
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:48:25 AM »
Hello!
I'm running a fully licenced Version R3.042.040 Mach3 Turn and 2 MPG's.
In the diagnostics screen I can reset MPG #1 to zero by clicking on it, typing 0 and it resets to 0
Repeating that procedure for MPG #2 does not reset the dro to zero.
Anybody got any idea of why?

Regards,
John.
