General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach 3 Turn OD sphere wizard

Curiouser and curiouser!  If I run the wizard on a demo copy of Mach 3 on my laptop and save the code to a usb stick and load it from there into the workshop computer, when I load the file into Mach it crashes.  Another interesting thing is that once Mach has crashed the PC will not close down properly from the start menu, I have to do a hard turn-off.

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 Turn OD sphere wizard

I'm trying to turn a hemisphere on the end of a bar, the same diameter as the bar.  When I try to use the wizard, when I click the post code button Mach 3 crashes and can't be re-launched without re-starting the PC.  Is this a known bug please?  I would say which version I'm using but to do that I'd need to restart the PC!

Is there another sphere wizard anyone can recommend?

Sorry your question doesn't make much sense.   Tell us more about which BoB, what the relay is, what you want to control?

4x4 inches, mm, cm, ft, metres?

Why do you want to do the calculations as you go?  Can you not do them all in advance?  For example, if you can write the x y and z moves you want to make into an Excel spreadsheet in a suitable tabular format it is very easy to use standard Excel functions to automatically generate G code.

General Mach Discussion / Scrolling Error in Mach 3

That sounds like a hardware fault in the wiring to the stepper driver, I have had a very similar thing happen to my Z axis.  IIRC a wire had become disconnected between the BoB and the driver, but danged if I can remember which one!  But try a careful check of the wiring.

Unless the machine has very low stiction/friction, I suspect that you would be very lucky if the stepper or servo could move by such a small amount even though Mach might deliver it the requisite pulses.  This because the incremental torque generated would be too small to move the axis or even the screw.

Oops!  Never come across a parallel poetry converter before, that should be port not poetry!
