General Mach Discussion / Re: Optocoupler for limit switch problem

Does your machine work ok with the torch on  until activating the limit switch?  If so then the problem is probably not USB interference.  Could you give more precise information on exactly what happens in what circumstance?   Also give a diagram of your connections?

So I still don't understand what you are wanting to do, but it seems to have nothing to do with gears!  Do you want the machine to go to a given position; wait while you manually feed down to cut a mortise; then go to the next position and wait, etc?  An easy way to do this would be to put a tool change after each move, which normally causes the machine to stop and wait while you lift and possibly move the cutter to a convenient position to change it, then moves back and continues.  I think this is the M6 macro.  So after each G0 command you'd have an M6 to stop the machine; then you manually feed to make your cut; then click cycle start again to go to the next position.

If you wanted of course you could do the vertical feed automatically with:

G01 Z<depth value> F<feedrate>
G0 Z<safe Z>

at each X and Y position.

Attached screenshot of M3 wizards screen.  A combination of OD Arc and OD Arc2 will make a complete ball.

It could also be that at over 1000 units/min you would exceed the pulse rate available from your motion controller.

Hello everyone,

I`m having one problem with my CNC Router. When I make my G-code I set the feed rate F4610 but on my Mach 3 screen, the feed rate is between 800-1000 never over 1000.
Motor tuning is set up to 7000. Is there any solution?
Here is an example of the G-code:

.......

Do you really need to feed at 4.6 metres/minute?  Or inches/minute?

I was wondering if anyone has successfully used Mach3 with a 5 axis trunnion system.

I suspect that you would get a quicker answer if you posted a new thread with a title like "Mach 3 5-axis trunnion system"

But given the OP's spec it may be perfectly suitable.  As long as he only needs a single parallel port as in his current setup that's what the UC100 gives.  And in my experience the config that's already set up will seamlessly transfer to the UC100 though a few small adjustments might be needed.

From personal experience I would recommend the UC100. Make sure you get a genuine one.

You need to MEASURE the backlash and set up the compensation to match.

I don't think trying on a different machine would prove anything tbh.  Do you have ballscrews?  Backlash compensation on? The code looks correct.
