General Mach Discussion / Re: Small Values in DRO's
« on: April 24, 2012, 12:38:02 PM »
Mach3 (.060) is doing the same for me.  I can start a program from X0.000 Y0.000, run to completion with no problems, then with final program command to return to 'G00 X0.0000 Y0.0000', and both DROs stop at 0.0001.  Hitting my GoTo 0 button, and both X and Y motors will "click" and DROs return to 0.0000.

I have not reverted to previous versions, but I don't remember seeing this before on my machine.  Not a problem for me as I don't need the accuracy, but something does appear to have changed.  I need to use latest Development version for M10/M11 commands for laser diode control.

Chet,
Maybe you are experiencing some random electrical noise.  Do you have and limit/home switches and other inputs connected?  If so, try adding a .1 uf ceramic capacitor between inputs and ground.

General Mach Discussion / Re: x y dumb question

Unless I don't understand your question, set the lower left corner of your square plate as X0 Y0, not the upper right corner.  Then the first hole on the bottom left of the plate will be at X0.5 Y0.5.

This is the way I would do it.

Sounds like you may have underpowered equipment, hard to tell without details of your system.  Post them and maybe something will standout enough to get you suggestions.

I just also upgraded one of my routers - larger power supply - SmoothStepper - C25 CNC4PC BOB - Gecko drives.  The improvement over my old setup was amazing.  If I change lead screws and nuts, I'll get even more improvement, but likely not worth it at this time.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Whose Fault Is ThIs?

Brian,
Will you elaborate on the changes made to CV in .058?  I don't recall seeing this discussed anywhere, but may have missed it.  I ask because I'm using .058 and M10/M11 commands with my small laser diode machine and noticing some problems with incomplete lines and circles in some cases, but haven't yet been able to fully diagnose a cause

Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / Re: Previous Versions

Tweakie,
Ver. 056 has the same issue on my computer (Win XP - Dell GX-270) as Ver. 058 - it faults with an Art code (?) error message and forces Mach3 to shut down, then wants to send a report to MS.
Earlier versions have never done this.

I will have to investigate further.

Thanks Much,
