The DRO changing means your Steps Per value is probably wrong.  Recheck your calibration.

Math = 20 x 200 x 8 = 32,000 Steps Per, not 8,000.

Nicely done, Tweakie.

Would it also be possible to alter (or make user selectable) the pulse timing of the output for possible use with laser diodes?

Gary,
Did you even try contacting Arturo at CNC4PC?  I have a SS with his breakout board, and I am well pleased with it.  In 1-1/2 years of regular use, there is no sign of it vibrating loose.  If your machine vibrates enough to cause the CNC4PC breakout board to come loose from the SS, then you have other major problems that need addressed more than the design of Arturo's boards.  I'm sure if you had asked for the missing pages, Arturo would have responded., as he is a respected member of this forum.

Positive feedback is usually appreciated by all, and most use it to improve their products and services.

Just my opinion, I am only a satisfied CNC4PC customer.

Send me an email.  I may be able to help with VB Express 2008.

I actually take screenshots of every setting in Mach 3 for those "just in case" moments. It takes some time, but nice to have when you need it.

Steps Per correct?  Micro steps correct?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Z axis not working appropriately

I have an older HobbyCNc board that I have been using for a number of years, and I believe that most of the problems associated with them by other users over the years have been due to bad solder joints.   Have you reflowed all solder joints for the Y axis as often recommended on the HobbyCNC group?  The other failure issue often encountered is connecting and disconnecting stepper wiring WITHOUT making sure the power to the board is fully discharged.  These may not be your problem, but from your thread, they are a high possibility.

"I have tried reducing the acceleration down to 50 and the velocity below 10."

Is this right?  I don't know for sure, but it seems having acceleration so much higher than velocity might cause what you're describing.

What Mach3 versions have you tried?
John
