Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Question on 4 Axis Toolpath?
« on: April 09, 2018, 07:30:52 AM »
Dazed+Confused,
Just a question, what Diameter do you set, the Stock to be cut or the Maximum Diameter of the Model.
If it is the Maximum Diameter of the Model then the only way to ascertain that correctly would be wih the CAM Model, as in my Z Axis (being the Radius) is not the Tip of the Tool but higher by the Radius of the Tool Tip.
Also with 4 Axis Simultaneous the Z Axis would move off center.
Does this ToolPath Regen to display the Correct shape of the Model affect the G-Code being sent to the Controller?
Regards.Mauri.

Dazed+Confused,
That looks like a great solution for my 3 year problem. ;D
I will try it when I later.
Maybe this should be coded in Mach4 Screen sets for all users on the next official release to make Mach4 display 4 axis correctly when choosing 4 Axis G-Code.
Nest question, what about 5 axis users, does this work for them as well?
Will they have to make up another button for the 5th Axis.
Thanks,
Regards,
Mauri.

cv580,
Mach4-3481_Integra_Plugin_2.01.72.zip
Load both the Firmware and Mach4 Plugin.
Use VSI Device Manager to install Firmware.
Read the Manual provided on how to install.

HiCON Motion Controller / Re: No motor movement with Mach4
« on: March 10, 2018, 01:24:37 PM »
cv580,
All Plugins involving HiCON card are always from Vitalsystem website.
http://www.vitalsystem.com/portal/motion/hicon/hicon_integra/downloads/
http://www.vitalsystem.com/portal/motion/hicon/hicon_integra/hicon_integra.php
Remember that both firmware and Mach4 plugins are included on each downloadable zip file.
Make sure that the Version for the plugin matches the Mach4 version.

Mauri.

cv580,
Also you need to download all the documentation that on HiCON that they provide, it shows all the settings required to make it work.
Backlash settings are set on the HiCON configuration and work fine.
You are able to setup 6 Axis with the HiCON card we have 4.
We have setup Soft and Hard limit switches and all work fine.
We also can fully control Mach4 from the Controller via button control via the HiCON card.
We have our MPG directly connected to HiCON and it work perfectly.
Our HS Spindle is also controlled via the HiCON card.
The Vital systems company has great support, via Phone, Email, Mach4 Vital System Forum and also via direct connection to your computer.
Current Mach4 V3481 with HiCON V3481 firmware/plugin are rock solid.
You can also use later version of firmware but only use the same Version of plugins as Mach4.

Mauri

HiCON Motion Controller / Re: No motor movement with Mach4
« on: March 09, 2018, 02:03:01 PM »
Hi,
HiCON are currently moving office to a new location.
They will respond very soon.

Mach4 V3481 and HiCON V3481 Firmware/Plugin are rock solid and this combination produces great results and very fine detailed cuts with no tool brakage using tools down to .05mm radius TBN on brass for days.
Please read the manuals provided properly and all will work.
We have removed all unesscessay plugins and use an MPG plugged into HiCON.
We also have control buttons with our controller to be able to fully operate Mach4 with HiCON.
Backlash works fine with our stepper motors.
We have wired up all soft and hard limit switches on all axis.
We are using 4 Axis on our Mill with HiCON.
Others have also set up THC without issues.

Regards,
Mauri.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: VistaCNC P2-S malfunctioning with Mach4
« on: February 08, 2018, 03:21:51 PM »
joeaverage,
I have two VistaCNC Pendant's one will not allow conversion to Mach4 P5 and the other P1A is still running on Mach3.
I want to convert it over when I move to Mach4 on our Router Table and am happy that you have no issues with the unit after you converted the Firmware fo Mach4.
Is there anything that it cannot do or I that I have to be warry of?

Mauri.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Real G93 Gcode anyone
« on: February 06, 2018, 02:27:04 PM »
Hi,
G-Code file that I used was sent before RDR sent his.
Here is the shape from Rhino as the file in any 3D format is too big for this forum.
I have also provided the G-Code with madCAM.
So as you can see Mach4 cannot display this and even a simple circle in G-Code on the ToolPath display in its true form.

Mauri.

RDR,
Thanks for the file,
I have also found that some systems use TCP (Tool Centerpoint Control)
It uses G43.4 to activate it (not available in Mach4).
It maintains the X/Y/Z F speed with A/B/C axis.
