I've tried it both ways. Same results.

Yes, it is a licensed version. The Code came from the simple threading wizard.

General Mach Discussion / Mach turn threading issues
« on: February 20, 2014, 10:39:29 AM »
Hello. I am having an issue trying to make some threads on my lathe. The lathe will make a correct pass with the correct pitch on the first pass. On its return back to the start of the threads, it is just as slow as the threading pass. When it starts the second pass, it goes extremely fast, ruining the first cut. when it returns, it again moves at a very slow pace. I tried to install an older version, loaded only the necessary info to get the lathe motors to move properly, and it did the same thing. Please help as this is for work, and I have sold management on mach and all of its capabilities. Thanks in advance.

General Mach Discussion / A good compatible laptop
« on: March 29, 2013, 11:57:27 AM »
Is there a particular laptop that plays nice with Mach. I have heard horror stories of people plagued with problems trying to run Mach on them. I am looking to buy a good used laptop, but need to know what and what not to look for. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

This is also happening to me. I am running the latest version of Mach, but it is happening on my x axis. Doesn't happen all the time, but it usually "Clunks" at leats once when jogging from one end of the machine to the other. Somtimes it causes one of my motors to stall, throwing my two motor gantry WAY off. When running a job, I notice that it often will be off about a half an inch after a while of cutting in the X axis. I have read about others with simular problems, but yet to read of a cure. Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Router not cutting smoothly

There isn't one. Only A Mach2(inch), and a Mach2(mm).

On a side note...You, Tweakie, are the reason I am spending every waking hour of free time working on my CNC. The things you have done are truely an inspiration to thoes of us who want to do more than just cut signs on our routers and mills. My biggest issue I have is after I FINALLY figure out somthing new to try, (Tangential cutting, Laser etching, 4th axis stuff etc...) I have no real need for it and end up looking for something new to try. Please continue to give me something to shoot for. Thanks, Andy

That is the problem, Artcam has no Mach 3 arcs PP. It has a Mach 2 inch and mm PP. In CAD, the objects are created using arcs, it just doesnt post Gcode with arcs. I was sent a PP by a fellow CNC'R that I am going to try tonight. It all runs smooth in simulation so i'll give it a try.Thank you for your help. Andy

Artcam does have an option to create in arcs, but the PP will not allow it to create the Gcode w/ arcs. I tried it both ways, (W/ and W/o arcs), and there is no change in the final code.

I was wondering if someone could help me with a question. I watch videos of people, running Mach, and are able to cut circles and other shapes with arcs smoothly with no hesitation in thier cutting. I am using Artcam with a Mach 2 (inch) postprocesser. I have it set to CV. Not sure what else to try. Thanks, Andy.
