General Mach Discussion / Re: Threading only in milimeter
« on: July 07, 2012, 11:10:29 PM »
Hi Hood, the problem was the frecuency of 35khz,, if put 45khz then the pitch is correct 8.46666mm/rev. With 35khz the parameter P=8.46666 but in the DRO show 7.97mm/rev.

Another concern if the commanded speed is 250rpm but the speedometer shows 260rpm, this could affect the pitch of the thread?.

thanks
Renato

General Mach Discussion / Threading only in milimeter
« on: July 06, 2012, 05:35:27 PM »
Hi , i can only make thread in millimeters 2, 2.5, 3, 8, 10, etc but when i put in the wizard step of 8.4666, ie TPI = 3 P = 1/3 = 0.3333, is done with a pitch of 8mm, if i put 8.5mm then make 8mm, if i put 9mm also make 8mm, recently if i put 10mm then is correct in 10mm.

i canot make threads with pitch in inches, I'm using version 043,062.

This is some bug in the threading.

SmoothStepper USB / SS problem with the second port
« on: June 14, 2012, 01:10:46 AM »
Hi , I have a cnc lathe with two parallel ports working correctly. I installed the SS and the first parallel port works fine but the second barely responds.

The first port is used to command the axes and some inputs and outputs, the second parallel port use to communicate with a PLC that performs tool changes and moves the spindle motor. I have written three macros in M3, M4 and M6.

With Output3 and Output4 i send to the PLC the spindle speed and Output5 and Output6 send the tool. However, the PLC moves the magazin without stopping or turning the spindle at a very small or do nothing. I tested three versions of Match but the result is the same.

I can be doing wrong or there is any conflict with the second port?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Index pulse in Lathe
« on: August 22, 2011, 09:25:34 AM »
Then this is possible make threading conical.

Other restlessness when mach3 turn think implement timing pulse, namely several pulses por revolution of spindle?, i see several turn cnc and all use encoder in spindle.
This must be at least a few slots per revolution for more precision long threads. because several factors can alter the velocity of spindle in one revolution and the mach no informed of this.

thanks

Hi, can Mach3 make threading conical? If i define G76 Xend Zend conical could make this but i now no have implemented my turn and can`t probe this.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Soft stop at limit switches
« on: September 11, 2010, 02:35:40 AM »
Hi, when the axes touch the limit they should stop mechanically opening the motor contactor and brake with a low value resistor (resistive brake) while sending an alarm to the driver and the match for them to stop immediately. The limits of limit switch should stop the machine mechanically after out and then back to the reference.

I also think that the stop through the match should not have infinite deceleration but not a slowdown as low as 200 mm / s ¨ 2. Maybe 800-1200 would be a good option.

Hi, i´m thinking buy a PC with these features:

Motherboard: Foxion G100
CPU: AMD Athlon x2 3ghz
RAM: 1GB
HD: 160GB
LCD 15.6'' Samsung
Video card: 512Mb Nvidia
with port LPT inside

It meets or exceeds the characteristics required by the match but i want to make sure before buy, if any of you have used and if the motherboard or the CPU does not give problems.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Driver watch dog?

Hi, the WatchDog is the same as the option in GeneralConfig UseWatchDog?. I always disable this to avoid stalls caused by internal problems of the PC, but amazingly is reactivated only every twenty days or so, I'm always pulling it out.

I use the index for read the velocity of my motor spindle, have ten groove in the axis and the motor rotate until 3000rpm, then the input frecuency is of 500hz and this is read correct. In my case I would ask the foreros what precision obtained when using the HOME of the match?. I use the HOME with my drivers and the Z of the encoder and is precise.
