SmoothStepper USB / SS problem with the second port
« on: June 14, 2012, 01:10:46 AM »
Hi , I have a cnc lathe with two parallel ports working correctly. I installed the SS and the first parallel port works fine but the second barely responds.

The first port is used to command the axes and some inputs and outputs, the second parallel port use to communicate with a PLC that performs tool changes and moves the spindle motor. I have written three macros in M3, M4 and M6.

With Output3 and Output4 i send to the PLC the spindle speed and Output5 and Output6 send the tool. However, the PLC moves the magazin without stopping or turning the spindle at a very small or do nothing. I tested three versions of Match but the result is the same.

I can be doing wrong or there is any conflict with the second port?

Hi, i´m thinking buy a PC with these features:

Motherboard: Foxion G100
CPU: AMD Athlon x2 3ghz
RAM: 1GB
HD: 160GB
LCD 15.6'' Samsung
Video card: 512Mb Nvidia
with port LPT inside

It meets or exceeds the characteristics required by the match but i want to make sure before buy, if any of you have used and if the motherboard or the CPU does not give problems.

hi, i have one motherboard PCchips P43g and this have the port of video VGA integrate in the same card joint with the port parallel and serial.
but also have one port PCI Expressx16 graphics card slot empty. Is normal o no is advisable use port of video integrate? why. Is a Pentium Dual
Core  2Gram.

This motherboard come with one CD drivers, i installed all these.

General Mach Discussion / detail of FeedHold
« on: January 07, 2010, 12:45:02 AM »
Hi friends, now i am using the new version of match the .033 and it is better, is respecting their limit of aceleration of 150mm/seg^2 in all time, also now work a 25khz of kernel speed and no have problem with the movement of mouse and change of window, neither use it much.

But no understand, maybe it happen a your, when press FeedHold my mill stop in two seconds when would should stop in less of 0.5 seconds. The indicator numeric also delay 2 seconds to stop. I see wich the match react later de 1.5 seconds to stop and the rest the use to desaceleration the motor. It is normal?.

When i used is a 60khz, the mill stopped more rapid.

regards.

General Mach Discussion / problem real time
« on: November 13, 2009, 12:07:10 PM »
iHi, Today i proved the version 3.042.031 for first time, with a new program with enough interpolation line, i see with the Look Ahead of twenty no is enough for this and i see stopped and outburst frequently, i need a Look Ahead of 100 for see a fine movement. The buffer Load is 39% a 35khz of Kernel Speed.

With the version previous 3.037 i observe a fine and precise movement and the buffer Load is 19%, a 35khz of kernel Speed and Look Ahead of twenty.

Also the two versions have the following problems:

* A 60khz of kernel Speed o superior the movement of the mouse o the change of window can cause variation in the frequency of puses that originate jump and/or alarm in the axis.

* A 35khz the Feed Hold stop the axis a one distance superior which a 60khz, for example.

A 2000mm/min Feed Hold stop the axis in 4mm, this with 35khz of kernel. With 60khz of kernel
the axis stop in 2mm. the two a same aceleration.

I ran the Driver Test and was satisfactory.

I think that match3 take control of the PC almost all time, but can happen one time for day o one time for week that the window o the hardware of the PC interrupt the pulses.

this i proved with various computer that surpass the requirement minimun.

Maybe lack improve the real time software.

General Mach Discussion / Alarm Driver Watchdog Triggered
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:31:32 PM »
Hi good day, i was working yesterday with my mill and and this stop and the alarm that appeared no was STOP External, was Driver Watchdog Triggered. this was a own error inside the mach3. why? My computer is a Pentium3 512Mb Ram.

In other Milll happened that press the key Space (FeedHold) the machin stop very strong without aceleration, this happened several times. This PC is a CorelDuo 2GRam.
This happened only one day and no was due a driver.

Some explication a this.

very thanks

General Mach Discussion / mouse interrupt the math3
« on: August 16, 2009, 03:27:07 PM »
hi forum, i am concerned that when you move the mouse when the match3 it is running at high speeds, the driver generates an alarm for high acceleration.

This only happens sometimes but i'm concerned because the mouse stops the frequency of output pulses for a few moments.

The alarm of  high accelerations also occurs when change the MDI window while running the program. Also when i installed NOD32.

My parameters are:

step per:    787.4015
velocity max:  2000mm/min
aceleration:  200mm/s^2
Width pulse:  5us
PC:  Pentium 4, 512M, 1.6Ghz

what steps can i take? help

regards
