Thank you all, I suppose thats what I get for mixing inches and milli things  ;D

Here's a picture of my Mill, just to clarify. It's an Eagle25 purchased in UK. I think it is much the same as the Rong Fu 30 maybe ?
It has a 1 Horse motor.

Chuck fellows (and others) did a great job of converting their machines so I thought I would give it a try.
I'm not sure I like the Z axis conversion so I went searching and found a couple of alternative methods that I'd like to try.
I have attached a picture of my preferred route, I just hope the owner 'Pertsa' over on homemodelenginemachinist forum responds to my message.

And thanks daniel, I get myself some coated 2 flute cutters.

Regards to all

George

I bet it has been asked a thousand times but here goes.

I'm attempting to cut some Aluminum sheet 12.5" thick,
Some pockets will go right through up to 2" diameter. A profile around the plate will be approx 9" x 4"
There will be a few 6mm slots.

My bench mills fastest speed is 2100rpm
If I use a 10mm 3 flute slot drill and cut at 0.5mm per pass , what speed should my table be running at in inches per minute to get best results.
I'll mist with white milky stuff from a spray bottle.
Is .25mm per pass too little ? What is the easiest grade of aluminum to cut?

Hello, my names alex wight and I'm from Lochgelly fife scotland.

I have just went self employed in January of this year, after 2 years of doing a job as a gas engineer and setting up my business, i took the leap of faith.

Ive started supplying the racing pigeon world with nest boxes, feeders, baskets perches ect, which has kept me very busy.

I have a purpose built cnc routing machine being built for (lack of time to build myself), which is due for delivery any day now.

I intend covering a wide range of areas with bespoke unique woodcrafts.

I,ll be looking for great ideas that are very different to what you normally see.

I have a customer who wants to use me for that very purpose, and I'm also keen on being involved in doing contract work.

I look forward to going through the site for advice and guidance along the way.

Although i have used a sabre 404 machine, this one I'm getting is MINE lol

regards alex
Good to see another Fifer on board. Welcome Alex.
I would seriously consider Vectric's software Aspire and of course Mach3/4

George

hi george, where are you? I'm in lochgelly. I'm going to be using Vectriv aspire along with mach 3.

Cant remember the programs that i used with the sabre, but once i get used to these programs I'm sure i,ll be fine. If not i know where to come lol.

alex
Sorry if I misled you Alex, I'm down in Oldham. But drop in for tea anytime :-)

Ok Warp 9!
Are you just going to leave this here a unanswered?
Or are you going to support your customers as you should do.
I have just taken delivery of my Ess board + breakout board and to be honest from what I read, indeed your service is appalling I'm actually afraid of installing them.
I for one posted a message on Warp9 and it remains unanswered.
Unless you have a valid and just reason to ignore then may I suggest in the nicest possible manner that you jolly well pull your finger out.

I run a department of engineers who make up my team. We test new products often to destruction. We have
many Queens awards for industry. I I ignored my customers I'd be out of a Job.

Kind regards, and please take this message in the manner intended.
I hope your business thrives.
