Is it a bug in mach4 or did I do something wrong? All my G02's are going Counter and all my G03's are going clockwise.

I went thru and manually changed all my G02's to G03's and viseversa. All seems good now but I shouldn't have to give a CCW command to get a CW movement. Is there a problem with Mach4? Is this something that is getting fixed in the next release of the software? I'm to the point where I want to buy the license but if i am going to have to edit all my programs (100's) I might just load Mach3 back on the new computer and hope for the best.

Does Mach3 lathe code directly cross over to Mach4 lathe? I have a .tap that runs good in mach3. Mach4 has the arc mode settings matching my mach3 setup. At the G03 the tool path goes clockwise gouging into the piece instead of going counter clockwise and leaving a nice radius on the end of the piece.

Distance mode is set to Absolute and IJ mode is set to Incremental just like Mach3. I have been using this code to make this piece for well over a year just wont translate to Mach4.

Tool paths are displaying better.

Is there a setting or an edit to keep the tool paths from moving in the window and have the cutter position move. The tool paths moving like that gives me motion sickness.

Thanks Stuart, that did the trick.

The Demon is feeling a little neglected. Haven't been to a show in 2 years and I am going to skip the Zanesville show. I'm a little nervous about the delta so i'm going to wait another year.


You don't know any tricks with the arc circle mode do you? I setup exactly like my Mach3 setup and I'm getting crop circles. I tried changing between incremental and absolute on both modes and no good. Also made sure to shut down and restart mach4 between each change. No cure.

Also I don't know if you saw the thread about the tool path window but I'm having trouble there also.

I'm pretty disappointed with Mach4Lathe. It's been a week and I still don't have a setup that I can use.

Mach4 General Discussion / Cant change text size in gcode window

I'm trying to change the gcode window text size so I can see more than 6 or 7 lines at a time. I was able to change the font and the size I want (12) is displayed in the form but when I load mach and then load some code the text size doesn't change (20)

I go back to the form and it says 12 on the form. If I pop up the dialog box to change the font the dialog box shows 20 highlighted. I change it to 12, save and exit, start mach4, and it displays the text at 20 in the gcode box.

Is this some kind of bug that hasn't been addressed?

If you look at the circle in the tool path window the little white dot in the circle is my tool path. Regen sets it back to this. If i use the mouse to turn zoom and twist it for a few minutes I can almost see the tool paths.

That did the trick! Cycle start button is working.

Here is what I ended up with.

[mc.ISIG_INPUT0] = funtion (state)
    if (state == 1) then
        Cyclestart()
    end
end

Thank you for taking the time to help. Much appreciated. Now I have a few other things to fix and I will be able to start making parts!!

Have you considered the possibility that the cutter is being pulled out of the collet or chuck that is holding it. I use collets to hold my cutters and if I take a heavy cut or try to cut too fast the cutter will get pulled out of the collet. See if that is a problem.
