Just wanted to show off this cylinder head I made. It is for a small V8 engine that I'm working on. It measures only 4-1/2 inches long. The "blank" was made on a manual mill and everything else was done using LazyCam and Mach3!! I made 5 pieces.

Something about these cubes. I can't get them out of my head.

I use LazyCam for everything. I have had the "crop circles" from time to time but i have to say that 90% of the time, LC comes thru. RICH can tell you that I do not post much here because I dont have alot of trouble. I think I came to this forum 2 or 3 time that I needed some help with lazycam. For the time it would take to code by hand, I think I would rather let LC do it's thing and weed out a few crop circles and save HOURS!!

HOURS!!!

hold left on the keyboard the mill moves left, if I hit up the y axis moves up, so on and so forth. Is there any other setting that could be incorrect or should I have the y axis run backward(if I push up it would move away)?
Thanks.

If you are talking about the mill table then you are reversed. When you press the left arrow the table should go right. When you press the up arrow the table should come toward you. Think in terms of the tool should move with the arrows. For the tool to move right, the table needs to go left.

Off subject stevehuck, but, Meleey posted some nice macros for peck drilling, so all you need to do is add a few lines of code for the drilling and not do all that stuff that is in the manual.
RICH

All i do is change the 81 to 83 and add the Q factor. Is there an easier way?

BTW, I'm very new to CNC so I don't know what a macro is or does. But I am learning!!

I have to agree with you Rich. I can't count the thousands of hours and dollars that I have saved using Lazy Cam. For the price I will gladly weed out a few crop circles and manualy change when peck drilling.

What size end mill did you use for the pocketing?
What type milling machine are you using?
And, How long did it take to cut the piece.

Used a .020 endmill
Used a home brew milling machine of my own design.
Took about 4-1/2 hours because my spindle wont spin very fast. . . . Yet!

I have 2 coats of red paint on them. When they are completely dry, I'll send a few pics.

Hello Rich!

I still need to color the recessed part with red. The red paint will be cut to 35% paint and the very thin mixture will be daubed in and left to dry about 5 times. The whole thing will take about a week. Once that is done the only raw aluminum will be the top surfaces.
