General Mach Discussion / Diameter changes .001 every part.
« on: December 06, 2018, 09:39:59 PM »
Just finished converting a lathe. Gecko's, Nema 34's. Mach3 Lathe.

I turn a diameter and dial in to the correct size and the next part is perfect. THEN! the next part is .001 larger than the first. Hit cycle start again and the third part is .001 larger than the second. Now I know your thinking i'm loosing steps but I have the rapid speed way down and acceleration ramp looks like a triangle. Z axis is a 1200 Oz and X axis is a 600 Oz motor with a 2:1 belt drive. Way more motor than I need. The weird thing is the error is exactly the same every time. Is there a setting in Mach Lathe that could cause something like this to happen? Could the Gecko be configured wrong? Anybody ever heard of something like this happening?

« on: September 25, 2011, 09:23:52 AM »

This is the example from the reference. I'm guessing that the text in the first text box should be returned as TextBox1 but it always seems to equal "". If i'm wrong what variable returns what is input into the text box.

Sub Main
Begin Dialog TextBoxSample 16,30,180,96,"Text Boxes and Text"
OKButton 132,20,40,14
CancelButton 132,44,40,14
Text 8,8,32,8,"Text Box:"
TextBox 8,20,100,12,.TextBox1
Text 8,44,84,8,"Multiline Text Box:"
TextBox 8,56,100,32,.TextBox2
End Dialog
Dim Dlg1 As TextBoxSample
Button = Dialog ( Dlg1 )

Text in textbox one = TextBox1   ???????????????

End Sub

VB and the development of wizards / DRO color help?
« on: September 23, 2011, 07:42:16 PM »
I am trying to change color of the dro's. I copied the reddro.png file into the wizard's "bitmap" folder. I then changed the text to black and the dro to white. In machscreen the dros look great but when I run the wizard in mach the dros are just white with black.

Is there a setting in mach that i'm missing?

I am writing a wizard for machturn for turning pen blanks. I cant seem to find any information for the finished diameter of any of the pens. I do have a few from the guy whom i am writing the wizard for. There are 30 different pens, key rings, ect, and I would like to include as many as I can for him.

Anybody have the info or know where to get it. Here are some of the ones I know from measuring the bushings.

VB and the development of wizards / Button Color?
« on: September 11, 2011, 08:32:59 AM »
Is it possible to change button colors in machscreen? I just want to make my cycle start botton green and the stop button red.  I would also like to put frames around groups of controls to make things easier to deal with. Is it possible to draw lines in MS?

I was going to call this thread "Blown cylinder heads".

This is the official kickoff of the blown Demon V8. I’m going to start a new thread so there will be no confusion to someone who starts reading the other thread.

I looked over the parts in the garage. I did make a lot of stuff for the second engine but when we started getting to the end a lot of the “I’ll make two” went out the window.

Among the big parts is the block. The block and oil pan are 100% complete. The liners and lifter bushings are pressed in and the bores are finished and ready for pistons. That will save at least a week and maybe two. The bell housing adapter and bell housing are also done.

The heads are done 100% and the valve cages are pressed in. One head has the valves installed. Both heads will need the rockers installed. All the pieces for the heads are made and tucked away for the later process.

The intake is nowhere. I made the blank but still need to do everything. This manifold will be completely different than the carbureted unit.

The valve covers are done but will need some kind of work to fancy them up a bit.

The camshaft is cut and assembled. I still need to do all the hand work to smooth out the cam lobes.

I also have the Timing cover done as well as the balancer and blower pulley.

I’m thinking the place to start is with the block. I’ll get it trimmed out with crankshaft, rods, pistons and so fourth and just roll from there. It will be a slow start because of the holiday ending and I have a lot going on in the next 2 weeks.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!

Machscreen Screen Designer / Reset button help
« on: August 25, 2011, 01:38:39 PM »

I have created a wizard to aid myself in some basic day to day stuff. I needed a reset button so i inserted a button and LED. I have the button working ok but the LED, not so much. I have tried every led that would seem to work with the reset button but no light and no flash. What LED should I use to monitor the reset button and flash when the button needs to be reset?

Thanks in advance.

VB and the development of wizards / Passing Code to mach
« on: August 20, 2011, 03:43:03 PM »
When posting code in LazyCam somehow the code is passed to Mach if it is running on the computer. Anybody know how it is done? I have a custom application written in VB that creates code. I would like to pass the code to mach if it available. This is not a wizard but a stand alone app in VB.

Just wanted to show off this cylinder head I made. It is for a small V8 engine that I'm working on. It measures only 4-1/2 inches long. The "blank" was made on a manual mill and everything else was done using LazyCam and Mach3!! I made 5 pieces.
