General Mach Discussion / z out of wack, i can t figure it out
« on: July 27, 2011, 12:47:24 AM »
wow, here i am again requesting help. atached is my xlm file,   i think i had a brown out or automatic windows update.  i have been fiddeling with this for days. i do have  it working but things are off. x and y are ok except for shuttering in the curves even at low speeds.  the z way off!  i have been through the docs several times. and looked at many forum threads. it must be in the ball screw setup ?   don't know how it would have changed?  i think i have a standard acme screw 10" long .75 in diameter 9 tpi. direct drive to the servo.  also when i press the stop button, the bit does not raise, it stays in the work.  i think i have looked and changed everything.  what the heck am i missing.  thank you.  tony in indianapolis, indiana usa

« on: July 21, 2011, 10:42:30 PM »
HELLO, I HAD AN AUTOMATIC WINDOWS UPDATE OR A POWER SERGE AND NOW MACH IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE MACHINE. THE DRO DO NOT CHANGE  AND THE DIAG LEDs DO NOT LIGHT UP.  I HAVE PLENTY OF WORK AND THIS IS NO TIME TO MESS UP.  CAN ANYONE HELP ME. I AM IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN. USA.  IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE I CAN CALL TO WALK ME THROUGH THE SETUP.  THANK YOU.  TONY ROGERS

I THINK I FIXED MINE TODAY.  STEP 1 -- I MOUNTED A CONNECTION BLOCK ISOLATED FROM THE MACHINE FRAME.   I RAN SEPARATE GROUND WIRES TO IT FROM; #1 THE SPINDLE FRAME  #2 Z ASSEMBLY (THE SPINDLE IS ISOLATED FROM A PHYSICAL GROUND BECAUSE OF THE NON CONDUCTIVE RAIL GLIDE PADS). #3 THE BRIDGE. #4 THE FRAME OF THE CNC MACHINE.  STEP 2   I ADDED ANOTHER GROUNDING BLOCK ON THE WALL NEAR THE MACHINE'S POWER OUTLETS.   I CONNECTED THE GROUNDS FROM BOTH 220 VOLT FEEDS AND THE 2 DEDICATED 110 VOLT COMPUTER SUPPLY CIRCUITS. ALL 4 GROUNDS ARE CONNECTED TOGETHER AT THE BLOCK.  THEN I CONNECTED THE MACHINE GROUNDING BLOCK TO THE WALL GROUNDING BLOCK.   NOW ALL OF THE INPUT POWER GROUNDS FOR THE MACHINE ARE TIED TOGEHER ALONG WITH THE NEW ADDED SEPARATE GROUNDS. -- I THINK THE HIGH FREQ. SPINDLE EMITS RF THE BLEEDS INTO CONTROL WIRING AND PLAYS WITH THE ELECTRONICS IN THE CONTROL BOX. GROUNDING AT THE SOURCE OF THE RF ABSORBS / DISSIPATES THIS ENERGY. - I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

General Mach Discussion / NEED SOME HELP CONGIFURING LPT PORTS
« on: November 15, 2009, 12:33:01 AM »
i have a new router from precision automated equipment in michigan. i have been experiencing problems with noise coming from the servo motors.  i think it is a problem with the lpt ports. so i had the lpt ports changed and installed another brand. i need some help getting the new ports configured. i called pae a week ago and no call back. my computer is on xp pro. they did send me one of their dell computers which is using vista and the noise disappeared (i don't want vista at all).  is there someone out there who could walk me through that process over the phone to get my xp machine running without motor noise?  i could call you so its on my dime.  thank you.  tony rogers aaasign.com  indianapoilis, in tonyrogers@aaasign.com 317 297 7503
