General Mach Discussion / Mach3 with PCMCIA
« on: October 07, 2009, 06:44:25 PM »
This may have been asked before.  To run Mach3 and Controller Board(with Parallel Port Connector on it), am I correct that I only need a Parallel Port PCMCIA card?
Such as the SPPX-100 or SPPXP-100 from www.Quatech.com     Thanks, Ray   PS: The computer has no parallel port but does have a PCMCIA slot

General Mach Discussion / Reset Problem
« on: October 07, 2009, 10:29:43 AM »
I installed Mach3 on Vista computer and did the memoryoverride. It asked if I wanted to make a personal startup (not in those words) and I did one with my name.  I load (My name)MachMill and everything is fine.  Reset is blinking and I click it and it stops.  THE problem is when I open the original MachMill and the Reset button flashes, no matter how many times I click it it still flashes.  Did I not do something right in install?  Ray

General Mach Discussion / Re: DRO Speed
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:12:53 PM »
Thanks Hood and Ger21.  It was the Acc. and Vel. settings.  I should have taken a pen and paper to the shop and noted the settings on that computer, but instead I relied on my super memory (ha ha).  Glad you both were here.  Thanks again, Ray

General Mach Discussion / DRO Speed

Just put Mach3 on another computer and when jogging, the DRO keeps going after I release the jog button for a second or two.  Where do I fix this please?
Thanks

OK Ray L., that all I understand.  I won't bother you again today. You have been aa great help and I appreciate it and thank you for that.  The only reason I said 10K ohm resistor is Xylotex datasheet said use that on limit switch input.  (I know that is not a limit swithc hookup, but that was me).  Thanksz again, ray

HERE GOES. Place 10K resistor on end of wire coming from touch plate to Input Pin#10 on my controller board (Hope that is it).  Go into Mach3/Config/Ports&Pins...then into Input Signal/Activate Input#1..into Input Pin/input pin#1/Port1 & Pin#10(this is the pin on my board I used).
After above is done when I use Mach3 and place plate on workpiece then move spindle/tool down to touch plate?????what happens???  Does DRO Z Axis zero out?
I really appreciate the help and hate to ask so many question.  Thanks, Ray   PS: If all of above is not right, let me know please.

Thanks again.  I don't have a breakout board that I know of.  I will look at the drawings that came with my controller board and look for INPUTs on that, connect the wire to one noting which input then go to Mach3 config.  How does Mach3 know where the wire is connected on the controller board? Is that what I do in Config?  Ray

HimyKabibble(RayL), Appreciate the info.  Where is the Probe Input to connect the wire?  Do I have to have another board or is it on my Xylotex board?  I said I didn't know diddly about what I needed.  Thank you,  Ray

Thanks Ray L.  Appreciate the info.  Sounds better than 45-60 bucks.  Ray
