General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 screens
« on: August 21, 2009, 12:49:34 AM »
Thanks Hood,
I don't know how the settings above changed I always have them the same while I have been trying things, I would never set Y to 9000odd, maybe the key board keys got accidently pressed, also know to set to pin 10.
let you know how things work out , I think i wil start from scratch and make a new profile
regards
Bernie

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 screens

Hi there,
Are there any posts regarding description of screen diaolgue boxes? What does  go to variable or set variable mean ? also what is the code in the upper right hand corner of screen used for. Next I am having trouble getting my cnc to move the correct distance . I am using mm's if I enter x10 the axis will move maybe 150mm.
here is my calculations maybe I have got it wrong, my lead screw has a pitch of 1.75 mm I am using 1/4 microstep setting.
200x4 = 800 /1.75=457.142. steps per mm           revs per mm 1/1.75= .5714revs.
Thanks

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the info sorry I am late replying have been away for a few days, have the cnc running now ready to try a program, found main cause was accel setting and leadscrews a bit tight.

Thanks again Rich still can't get the revs. much slower with the 1/8
setting, probably something simple I haven't done in mach3 setup.
I had you e-maill notification at 3.01 pm. (this one) and then two more 3.38
pm and 10.20pm can't find the last two posts or who they are from
All the best
Bernie
I have sent this message again as I had a note say it wasn't sent.

Thanks for your reply Jeff,
The motors are only turning over at about 20-30 revs.velocity set at 100 and accel 90
direct coupling to lead screw. Lead screw pitch 1.75. Calculated steps per unit as for lead screw at 114.28 now have set it at 200 to see if the steppers will run faster.Have one motor sitting on bench to check.Motors are keling KL23H286-20-8B bipolar parallel.
