General Mach Discussion / z axis moving to far
« on: October 18, 2010, 08:13:31 PM »
Hi there,
First posted this in wrong place in Turn.
I have a small problem that is probably my own doing but I can't see how to correct it.I can be cutting wooden gears or any other profile fine for a few days, then for some reason  next time I try to start the Z axis runs to max plus. Nothing I do will stop it running to max.After messing around with mach3 for ages it will start behaving itself but I don't know why. Can anyone suggest what I am overlooking and how to correct problem. I am not all that familiar with mach3 as yet.
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 screens
« on: July 29, 2009, 05:59:38 PM »
Hi there,
Are there any posts regarding description of screen diaolgue boxes?What does  go to variable or set variable mean ? also what is the code in the upper right hand corner of screen used for. Next I am having trouble getting my cnc to move the correct distance . I am using mm's if I enter x10 the axis will move maybe 150mm.
here is my calculations maybe I have got it wrong, my lead screw has a pitch of 1.75 mm I am using 1/4 microstep setting.
200x4 = 800 /1.75=457.142. steps per mm           revs per mm 1/1.75= .5714revs.
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Stepper motor Speed.
« on: June 22, 2009, 10:54:55 PM »
 ??? Hi there,

I have just finished my CNC router and wired up the electronics, keling steppers ,controller and C10 breakout board. steppers will move with keys and typed code OK. but I can't get any speed out of them. I have at the moment motor tune set at 200 and 1 microstep. I can't see what I am missing to make the steppers run properly.
Thanks
best regards
