Is there a way to change the default FRO from 6IPM to something else? I know I can enter it manually, but I would like to have something like 30IPM load up every time that I start up Mach3.

General Mach Discussion / Hitachi L100 and Mach3

I have a FlexiCam router that is running Mach3, a Sound Logic BOB and Spindle control board. I haven't been able to find an XML file for the Spindle control board, but I did manage to get the board working by setting up the pin configurations. What I'm having problems with is getting my VFD to run from the 0-10VDC. The spindle will turn on, and depending on the settings that I have in the VFD it will run at full speed, but when I send anything less than 10VDC the spindle runs extremely slow. I have tried resetting the VFD to the original settings, but this hasn't helped. I know I'm probably reading something wrong, but I have tried about every setting in the VFD and haven't made any progress. One other I noticed is that I can not change the spindle speed from the Mach screenset by using the + or - buttons. Can anyone tell me what their Function Codes A_03 thru A_15 are set at? General Mach Discussion / Mach3 and Cutting a Circle

I'm trying to cut a circle and it's not coming out a smooth circle. I did a search of the forum and it looks like most of the time it's backlash causing the problem. I don't think that's my problem here. I believe it's my motor tuning, I can hear the axis not running smoothly. I'm not really sure where I should have my velocity, acceleration, step pulse and direction pulses set to. I can attach an XML file tomorrow if needed.

I have a FlexiCam table router that I need to wire up the proximity switches. They are three wire, Blue, Brown and Black. I'm not too sure which wire is the positive and which one is the signal wire. Also I don't know how much clearance there should be between the switch and the contact strip.

General Mach Discussion / Program Stops Running

I have a pretty simple program that I am having problems with. If I run the program with the spindle off the program runs fine. When I run the spindle it will stop running at different times in the program, but typically near the beginning of the run. What appears to be the problem is the Z axis. The first part of the program there are 8 holes that are drilled, the second is 8 counterbores around the holes. The last step of the program is a circular cutout and a square cutout. The last step the Z axis is not rapiding up and down so it appears that the rapid Z axis movement with the spindle running is the problem. I've changed my Step Pulse and Dir Pulse, I originally had it set to 1, I then changed to 2, I got through the drilling cycle, but the program stopped running. I changed to 3 and the program stopped in the drilling cycle. I have no idea where to start or what to do.

Hi Guys, I haven't been here for awhile, but.... awhile ago I was having some serious problems with Mach3 on a BP conversion that I did. It didn't matter what I did I couldn't get Mach3 to run successfully, I decided that I couldn't deal with this anymore so I went with another companies product. Fast forward to today.... I have a FlexiCam router that I decided would be a good canidate for Mach3. I took a PC that I have and had Windows7 32bit installed on it. After about a day of messing around I got all of the axis moving correctly. I ran a few simple programs numerous times (not cutting, just cutting air), everything seems fine. At the end of the day I decided to run the gantry back to the center of the table and Mach3 is back at it again! The X axis are fighting each other. I checked my port and pin settings and they are set the same way they where when I was running my programs. I reversed the setting on the A axis and still the same problem. I tried to run the Z axis up by pushing the PGUP key, it went up. I push the PGDN key and the Z axis still goes up. I double check and reset the Hot Keys. Still the same thing. I shut Mach3 down and restart it, same problems. What is up with this? I can't believe that this is happening again, any thoughts on what to look for? Anything that can be done to prevent this?

I ran the driver test and I get the message Pulsing Too Fast. I looked in the documentation and did a search and I could not find anything to tell me how or why I am getting this message. I'm running a kernel speed of 25kHz. I am also running an onboard PP port, should I have an external PP card?

Here we go again. This is the third computer and the same problem still comes up. I am running a program that drills some holes, cuts a few pockets and then profiles. This is the first time I ran this program and I noticed that I did not make the first pocket large enough, so I stopped the run, went to zero and made a few programming changes. The program ran fine then all of a sudden the toolpath runs off to wherever. Again the origin was reset or changed somewhere, somehow by Mach. Take a look at the photos, I pushed Go To Zero which was no where close to being correct. I manually ran the table back to where about 0,0 SHOULD BE, it is off by over 3.5 inches. Seems weird how three different computers are having this same issue. There has to be a glitch or bug somewhere. Also this is the second time that I ran that pocket program, the first time I had no problem. So I don't think that the problem is in the program. I ran the machine for about 10 hours today with no trouble. Any thoughts? I can't belive that I am the only one that is experiencing this kind of problems on a continuing basis. If the DROs didn't change I maybe blame the drives or steppers. If this hadn't happened on three different computers I would blame the computer, but the only thing that is consistent is Mach and me. I'm pretty sure it's not me ::)

I was just reading through some of the older posts and came across this thread:

There are a few points brought up here that I wonder if I should use or pay attention to. generatorlabs said that they had problems using a Dell computer which is what my old computer that I was using up until I had a glitch. My new computer is a HP that I had to install a parallel port in. I'm wondering if this computer was not a good choice for running Mach. Also I am using 203Vs which are 10x microstepping, should I set my kernel speed to 35000Hz like simpson36 suggests?
