Brains Development / Re: Rapid OverRide OEM DRO

Thanks I already got that though. What I'm saying is it doesn't show up on the DRO drop down menu when creating a brain.

Brains Development / Rapid OverRide OEM DRO
« on: July 03, 2012, 09:16:18 PM »
I'm trying to map my potentiometer through pokeys, using a brain, but I can't seem to find the OEM DRO for Rapid O/R under the drop down. Any help?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / PWM Spindle Output Problem
« on: June 28, 2012, 10:06:19 PM »
I'm using the Digispeed XL from Homann Designs with a GS3 AutomationDirect VFD and a 3600RPM motor, and I'm having a small problem. The spindle operates as expected, however the speed is not correct. I have a high and low speed. I've set the pulleys up, which the ratio box seems to have no effect on the PWM output. For instance my low speed is a max of 2000 and when I enter M3 S2000 the VFD is only running around 40hz or approx 2400 motor speed.

I'm not sure what exactly I need to adjust? Or what I'm missing here.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Strange backlash activity.
« on: April 29, 2012, 12:16:37 PM »
Okay last night I ran into two backlash problems I've not yet seen before while setting up my X axis. First off I replaced my ball nut with larger balls to reduce backlash. After installing the new nut and testing my backlash by moving the table in step mode by .001 increments and then moving the other direction, and watching for indicator movement, I came up with about .004 backlash. This struck me as weird, because I did the same on the Y axis and it has .001 backlash.

So I decided to move .100 via MDI and then back to zero. Same result .004. Now this is where it gets weird. I next decided to move a larger amount like 1in. The table came back to zero perfectly every time. I increased the movement each time until I was at the full travel of my machine, and guess what, perfect every time. I don't get it, anyone have any ideas?

The second issue is backlash comp. When I turn it on and it goes to move in the opposite direction it hesitates for a second and then it moves. I have the backlash comp set at 100% and it enabled, but it seems no matter what I put in the % box it has no effect on the machine. I've used backlash comp before many times and this is the first time this has happened.

Any help is appreciated.

So I guess with the new pokeys plug-in, Mach3 can run 9 Axis?

PoKeys / Is there a way...

Is it possible to bring in sensor inputs from something like a proximity switch on the pokeys?

Can I use a pokeys output to trigger a relay on the cnc4pc C36 board?

It's no big deal, but what happens is when I run multiples of the same part, using only one tool, at the beginning of the program I call tool one and I was looking to skip the tool change sequence to avoid having to press cycle start more then once. I know I could just take out the tool change but I like to keep in there to be safe.

All that it requires, is me to press cycle start twice. Once to go to the tool change position, and another to actually start the program. If it can't be done, then so be it. I just had an idea the other day when I was watching it make chips.

Also I have a button for cycle start. Like I said the computer is not at a convenient location where I want to be pressing cycle start or clicking OK. I can see the screen from where I operate the machine but it's not within arms reach. I have all the controls I use right where I can reach them and watch the machine at the same time.

Well that might work for me because this is on a lathe and the spindle is manual control. How can I make this work?
