« on: October 23, 2007, 09:48:58 PM »
im running the new 2.56.1 on the machine in the house, not at the shop, to look at it,
and noticed, at least on this machine,
that when  i hit ref all home on the program run window i get a error code, " error on line 5 - sub or function not defined:G1X0Y0Z0"
but when i do it on the mdi window, i get 3 homed axis
scratching head.

i add another vote for turbocad.... got my version off ebay turbocad deluxe 11,  for $14 ...........works fine with lazycam, only thing is i need to explode the curves to make it work. it will allow you to do the curves you need, just take some measurements off a template and mark those points , then bring your curves thru those points.
when your all done save the dxf then explode the drawwing a few times and save the result, that way if you make a mistake you can go back.

one thing that was a problem with me was i had a tool offset set up in the tool table, so i would set my height for z then when the program ran it would do my hieght and add the tool hieght also, i manualy change bits, so i removed the tool hieght from the tool table, problem fixed.

hmm , ok
i thought you might be able to do like a shape file, only on the bottom layer , that way we could place a rectangle with the width of our choice for the tab width
thanks

General Mach Discussion / tabs
« on: July 14, 2007, 01:52:10 PM »
is there any way to have tabs short of manualy editing the gcode ?
i tried creating a dxf with 2 layers and the second layer is interupted for tabs, but when i clean up the image in lazycam the extra layer goes away. even if i have duplicated lines off.
i have lazycam pro, and its great, but i could seee being able to copy a chain and drop it down for tabs being very usefull
thanks

you might try freemill, its free, i have designed stuff in google sketchup, and used a free plugin to export a 3d file, then imported it into freemill.
at work right now, so i dont have the names in front of me, but it worked.. i was using it for text at the time.

going to go look at meshcam, dont mind paying for a program, just think it was a lil early for the price increase
