General Mach Discussion / lathe tool changer
« on: April 19, 2013, 03:37:37 AM »
hi; im converting a micro lathe to cnc, and made a 8 position tool changer, that uses a taper dog clutch for positive location
before the controller energise the stepper to rotate to the next tool it must push the toolchanger head as per the "real "ones to clear the dog clutch slots
can someone please point me where I can download a macro that will be close to implement this figure?

thankyou

gee I grow my CNC teeth on  serial n 1 of that type of machine , no automatic tool changer tho, after a couple of years the controller went south
and they replaced the brains with a Fanuc OM 10 controller, it worked very well
check for worn out ball screws

hi brett;
attached  is the error that im getting, I believe , and correct me if im wrong
but if I have  sucessfully ping the gecko and find it on the grex loader, it cant be a router
problem, or do you think that I should try a cross over cable? and bypass the router?
