this one just finished..  easy to clean up.. very simple job.

buggered if i know what exchange rate is today from AU to US lol

393
thanks guys...

i charge design time at $30AU p/h and machine time at $35AU p/h, so from my side the cost on that gold 8 claw job would be about $160AU to the trade then the metal costs $29AU per gram and weighs in at about 7 grammes so $203AU  plus about $10AU casting fee...

all up for my employer this works out to about $373AU COST.. i add a slice for myself where i can, if i can.. depends on each job at its own merit.. some rings like that 8 claw actually only take about 5 minutes to design and jobs like the bangle for example took 2 hours to design.

what you loose on the roundabout you find at the swings...

i got this back from the casters yesterday and assembled. the stones to be set are done off site as well.. diamonds i usually set myself.. this hodgepodge of semiprecious stuff i wont touch...

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 simulation

yes.  i test all my programs and screens on my pc inside before i transfer outside to my mill pc.

not having your motor tuning etc setup properly will give your innacurate estimated runtimes and simulation speeds.and so forth, i would find someone running the same hardware as yourself with the same controller and use his xml file in your install.

I test clients files (and mine) like this when they crash their hardware. easier to see visually where something is going wrong that to pour through 100 000 lines of code.

2 AM.. cant sleep :)

That job has been cast ans assembled already.. i dont cast myself, it goes to a casting company, they attach a sprue dependant to where it will placed on their tree of castings and according th emethod which will give them best flow of metal at the time.

i will upload images oc complete stuff from work in a few hours and hgilight where the sprue was
