Terry-    It uses the same address.   I just have to temp. Change the address then change it right back.
This is a dell computer

My computer has done this for years.    When I turn on the computer I have to go into ports and pins, change the address of the port,  save the change, go back into ports and pins change the address back to the original address, then save it again.    Works great until I turn the computer off.   Sounds flakey but true.

General Mach Discussion / New lathe idea.
« on: April 02, 2014, 04:54:37 PM »
Hi all

I bought a non working Mazak qt 15 lathe.   I was told it is a minor problem, but so far it is still broke.

I know it should be fairly easy (not cheap) to switch it over to Mach.   I have a Mach flame and plasma now, working on a mill also.

So here is my question-

Do you think it is possible to add "live tooling "to the lathe if I convert it to  Mach

Look at the sheet cam forum.   It looks like Les is working on an idea that will do this.   It uses a camera to trace edges and the exports that.

Do you think it could be a hardware issue?

Hood-

That cured the running bad, and the freezing when it starts up.   I am going to leave the IPM set low until I get a few jobs finished.  After that I will try it back at 200 IPM and see what happens.

Did you see anything in my XML file that might keep the port 2 LPT address from saving?

I can deal with it if you cant find anything.

Thanks for fixing the freezing problems

Hood-

No I have been reducing the overall IPM of the motors on the Motor tuning page.

I have tried to turn Mach on using this profile so that I can change the Kernel speed, and I cant get it to go past the start up screen.   It just freezes.

Hood-

I have kept lowering and lowering my speed trying to keep the machine from cogging when more than 2 axis move in auto.
