Hi Hood,
As I switch on the drive the motor spin really fast and kept increasing until AL appears and stop this happened within 5 secs.. I get AL 52 and sometime AL 31, then I tried initialise the drive ---> PR182 -->0012 switch off then switch on, set my own PR settings but still getting Al. To proof the driver is faulty I use the same Pr settings on a MRJ2S-100A, it worked fine.
I think the easiest way is to put back the original AC motor that came with this lathe and add a encoder somewhere....

Hi Russ,
I got the design plan from cnczone can't remember who provided it was ages ago, the measurement was all in Inches, I re-drew it all in mm.

thanks

Hi,
This is my 1st cnc lathe conversion and it is almost complete apart from the spindle motor which I'm not sure whether to use AC servo or other, need some suggestion on that, currently AC servo is mounted on.
The lathe is a BVB25L:

It is driven by 2 DC servo 24V with absolute encoder for X axis and Z axis, 1 ATC turret with Stepper motor for tool change, and the spindle Motor = Mitsubishi HC-SFS352K, Driver = MRJ2S-350A.
Currently I'm facing problem with the AC servo drive(s), there are 2 MRJ2S-350A and I think both aren't working properly, those were bought used, I'm looking for an alternative.

Hi,
I have a Delta VFD-B and want to use it for my new cnc router, the spindle is a 3 phase high speed spindle (GC RS110), 220V, 400HZ@12000rpm. My plan is to have Auto tool change M06, speed control according to Gcode's "S" command, M03(Clockwise Rotation), M04(Counter clockwise Rotation) and M05 (stop spindle).
Would anyone suggest where to start first?, please open attachment for Delta VFD-B pdf.

Ok, that's for pick and place, how about gcode for Mach controlled robot? I was thinking using 'Mach 3 6 axis screen' then have the XYZABC axes to run in angular, then generate 5 axis gcode ---> to 6 axis robot post---> run the robot..

Mach 3 for Robotic Arm...maybe it is possible.
if you are using a 6 axis Industrial Robot you would need a 5 axis post for that Robot, eg, Mastercam + Robotmaster.

SmoothStepper USB / Re: encoder inputs as DRO

How about swaping the OEM code of X DRO in 'Program Run' with 'Encoder 1 (X) position DRO' OEM code 29?

From the video link I can change the value of the encoder position by rotating the encoder shaft, how do map the reading to the X DRO in the main page 'Program Run"?

About closed loop, if closed loop works, then I can add servo to my gantry which have big backlash on all axes.

G-Day Folks...
Thanx for any advice you give me...
please tell me what to connect to where here please...Im tired getting old and ratty from a shoulder op...so will be really gratefull for a monkey see monkey do connection diag please
and thank-you very much
cheers

its going on my mill retrofit that started 2 years ago so now need to get this thing working

Wiring for the Stepper Driver to SS:
Short Pul- & Dir- and connect them to GND of C25, Puls+ to C25's port 1 pin2, Dir+ to C25's port 1 pin3.
In Mach3 go to---> Port & Pins---> Motor outputs----> enable X, step pipn =2 Dir pin =3
