Now it works... the only i've done is purchase the licence for mach. G94 works good and feed rate looks good but g95 is over the place, first I run at .015"/rev it's fine the I played with the feed rate over ride up and down but it must be locked out because I can't see any change on the screen, run the wizard again and I get .004"/rev and can't change it, it's not me and it's not Mach3, I posted my threading test on DSPMc.
How do I change my wear offsets to go the logical way + larger - smaller.

I will put it in the start up string because I would only use g95 but the stardard wizard put out g94  at the top of the program so I edit it to g95 but it doesn't change, its shows it in program. I can change back and forth in mdi, that's the least of my problems, going to try it again, god I can't be this rusty....

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / threading test
« on: January 26, 2013, 12:15:12 AM »

threading wizard .250" pitch 4 tpi I get about 11.5tpi. using a 1000ppr encoder x4 = 4000. I see the trigger pulse on and off twice just before the threading then the threading LED comes on Z moves but no pull out at the end of the thread but a slight dwell. If I jog the X &Z away and retstart the program it does sinc to the same pitch so it is consistant, and why am I allowed to use the feed hold in mid thread because that just screwed everything up.

Thanks guys I will try. As for the g95 /g94 If I edit the thread wizard in notepad and change the g94 to g95 on the top of the program it will not change, yet in MDI it does, so I have to change it in the diagnostics screen..

Hey Tweakie, 3 dec, places on the manual screen and the auto screen but when I press cycle it goes to 2 dec, places.
First off it would be nice to see the feed you asked for and second I am still having problems with the feed rate in inch/rev so I need to see when I ask for .015'/rev I only see .01
Thanks, Ray.
On an other topic, when I input in MDI g94 or g95 it switches with no problem but when I create a wizard that's in g94 I change it to g95 on the first line as a default like g20 g40 g90 etc I save it, load it and run it but it doesn't change to g95, if I put the g95 on the F line it changes, I have looked for info on how to make g95 modal on start up but can't find it.

General Mach Discussion / Re: motion controllers working with Mach3

I guess I will have to work around what I have, I'm just playing with it and I wouldn't want to put it out in the field.
Still have 2 USB RU LCD  shuttle  MPG"s from Russia, can't get the outer ring to change from jog to increase up to rapid, works with Mach3 no problem but not with Vital systems unit, gave Rufi the source code he said it should work.
Now testing my g76 threading using the wizard. 4" long .050 pitch, put in Rufi's magic M codes before and after G76, for the first 3" the feed rate shows .030"/rev and for the last 1" it shows .050"/rev, checked the thread and I get 26TPI? Now this is a demo version of mach3, Rufi said it didn't matter, hope it's just not my head spinning, take a break...

I guess I should add +-10v analogue

General Mach Discussion / Re: Special code for threading?

You are all right, and Hood, it's for a lathe, Rufi at vital said mill so now you know why I have to read between the lines all the time.
I thought Vital systems motion controller was a standard with Mach3 users and was a prooven unit.
I,m not comparing Mach to any other systems like fanuc, I think it's a great software for the price and that's why I am trying it out again.
Thanks for all your help.

Sorry "rcaffin" could you explain?
So after a slightly heated phone call with Vital systems they sent me this:
Attached are two files you copy to c:\\Mach3\macros\Mach3Mill.

Make sure you are using mach3mill profile.

You can then write your gcode like this:

M1370
Threading gcode ….
M1371

This will turn on and off led 1370 at proper place.

I assume all you mach3 users don't use this function.
