Galil / Using existing Micrex-F PLC?

Can I use the existing PLC? It is a Micrex-F. If I can it will save me a lot of time and money, I don't know diidly squat about PLC. I just need to use the router the thought of having to learn PLC i my plate is pretty full. Can I pull the Micrex's eprom to copy and use the code for the RIO? The Micrex is all wired up and coded so if I could use it it would be good.

I have the programming manual for writing the g code for the router and it has the list of m code commands to insert for the g-code. 

The The Micrex-F is a FPB56 and the expansion module is a FTB32

This is the CNC I need to get going it is a vintage 1991 Shinx CNC built in Japan, from what I hear it's a top of the line CNC for its era of course. I bought it used for $999 on eBay and it works and was decently maintained. 



I need to be sure I can operate the multiple routing spindles and heads as they are pnuematic actuated.

If I go with a DMC-2133 I was told by Galil tech support I'll need the ICM-20105 to go with it. I want to use the metal box to house everything in a nice enclosure.

Would adding a RIO be neccesary? What would I gain by adding one?

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / Galil 2133 or DSPMC/IP Motion Controller?

  I need to know what is better suited for running Mach3 the Galil 2133 or DSPMC/IP Motion Controller?

I bought a huge CNC Router on eBay for $999, it is a Shinx vintage 1991, it has an old Epson 286-U computer.



I was told this has analog drivers + - 10 volts.

I was going to buy a used Galil on eBay but I need support so I might buy new either directly for Galil or the DSPMC/IP configured from Machmotion.

The galil setup as I want will run approx $1500 and the Machmotion DSPMC/IP is $2550.

What concerns me is getting trhe Shinx operating correctly with full functionality (raising and lowering the pnuematic actuated spindles and drills).

Camsoft wants $7000 but I will stick with Mach3

Will this work for me I found this on eBay.

Although it's the same price as the ICM-1900 for $175.

I can get either the DMC-20x0 or DMC-18x2 (new) for $200 USD the ICM-20100 for $50 USD and the  ICM-1900 for $175. I would love the 21x3 series but money is tight!

I have a chance to acquire a DMC-20x0 or a DMC-18x2, which would be better?

SmartTerm? Can you share a link for that please?

When I read the complete specifications for both the DMC-18x2 and DMC-21x3 controllers, I read the follwing:

"Commands are sent in ASCII. A binary communication mode is also
available as a standard feature" infact it says the same for the Accelera boards too.

Why can't the DMC-18x2 be set for binary and avoid the slowness of it?

The DMC-18x2 econo controllers not accepting binary is that a problem generating GCode with Mastercam X3 or VCrave Pro 5?

Thanks for helping me. I uninstalled Mach3 and deleted the registry entries and reinstalled now everything works fine.
