On your settings screen within Mach there is a tool change location. That will accomplish the first part of your request.

I do not know how to implement the changing of the pin status upon arriving at a location.

I do it as Russ does too, if hand coding line by line it is always a G0 or G1.

This topic is more complicated than it appears or you desire it to be. You are not alone. When I started, I thought it would be simple like pressing a few buttons, actually to tell the truth I really didnt think as much as I wanted a finished part.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Motor tuning in Mach Turn
« on: March 07, 2014, 11:28:42 PM »
I too have wondered why there is no axis calibration tool with the lathe profiles. In the past I have used a profile of a modified mill profile (running the X & Z axis just for the tuning parameters, copy them and use them on my lathe profile) I am sure there is a way to add features on screens and such to include the calibration tool but it more involved than I understand.

Knowing my luck, I would figure out how to do it and Mach 4 would be released the next day!

FAQs / Re: edit gcode... where does the file go?

The second scenario has the file named. You never had a file the first time since you didnt name or save it.

What kind of communication errors did you get? Watchdog errors? I noticed during a tool measuring session yesterday, that mine will continue traveling after the key has been pressed. I was able to repeat it a few times. That sucks. Nothing will stop it except the EStop. I thought a key on my keyboard was stuck. Odd.

I asked that due to the fact when I got my first mill running. I didn't know what MDI was or how to use it. I had no hot keys assigned (didn't know what they were yet). It wast til someone gave me the GCode for a short movement that made my machine move. Just making sure you knew how to use an M3 command.

SmoothStepper USB / ESS and Pokeys

I was under the impression Pokeys is available USB or Ethernet. I am not interested in the pulse engine, just extra I/O's I think.
